Our home is warm, clean and comfortable. We have a lovely big kitchen/diner that is the hub of the house. The spacious kitchen leads into a middle room with an open real fireplace and stereo and computer with broadband and wi-fi. It has two gorgeous sofas that are perfect for lounging on in the sun that streams through the windows onto the chaise longue near the fireplace.
There is a cosy front living room that has two big sofas and a TV. It is perfect as a seperate space for the kids or for a cosy night in watching the TV or a DVD. There is a gorgeous gas fire that warms the room beautifully.
There is a big bathroom upstairs with a bath and shower, next to the children bedrooms which are perfect for 9 and 7 year old children.
There is a study/spare room that has a single bed futon that is really comfy if needed.
Upstairs in the new loft conversion there is the master bedroom with a bathroom en-suite. The views over Alexandra Palace and Crouch End are just breathtaking. Our house is on a really quiet residential road that literally backs onto the gorgeous rolling green space of Alexandra Palace. The road is very unusual in that it is a real community and the children play out on the street as there is very little traffic.
There is a farmers market every Sunday in Alexandra Palace as well as the boating lake and a golf course and the famous Alexandra Palace ice-skating rink.
The area has great public transport links a 10 minute walk across Alexandra Palace takes you to the overground from where you can reach the city in 20 minutes. A 15 minute walk takes you to Turnpike Lane Station on the Picadilly Line where you can get into town in 20 minutes.
Crouch End is walking distance and has many lovely pubs, bars and numerous restaurants as well as coffee shops.
Muswell Hill is similarly within walking distance and has similar pubs, coffee shops and a cinema as well as boutique shops. We are two women living with our two girls who are 7 and 9. We are both professionals and have many good friends who have successfully enjoyed house swaps. We moved into our house over a year ago and absolutely LOVE the area as well as the house. We have loads of friends in our road and the adjoining roads and it is such a warm place to live we love it.
We go running and cycling often and love travelling and this seems like a great way to be able to travel without huge expense.
We like listening to music, reading and cooking and our house is well equipped for all of these things. Our kids love bouncing and we have a 12 ft trampoline in the back garden that keeps them occupied for hours.
Our neighbours are lovely on both sides and our house is an end of terrace and so it is pretty quiet. We are two women living with our two girls who are 7 and 9.
