Description of our house

Our flat is a 2 bed and 2 bath on the 3rd floor of a new elevator building. The main room has a full kitchen along the back of it and a large balcony overlooking the surrounding area. We love the wood floors throughout most of the flat because it reminds us of NYC. The master bedroom has a double bed and carpeted floors. The kids bedroom has a bunk bed, wood floors and a door out to the balcony. We have a full size refrigerator, a stove, oven and dishwasher. We also have a washer/dryer combo for laundry. One bath has a full size bathtub, the other a shower. There is a convenience store downstairs for groceries, etc. I would emphasize we live close to the train, so you can hear them pass, but they don't run from midnight to approximately 6am (and we aren't bothered by them after a day or two).

We live about 10 minutes from the centre of Greenwich and often walk to Greenwich Park (and walk into the western hemisphere) and the Greenwich Market with the kids - it makes for a fun outing. I work near London Bridge station and commute to work in around 20 minutes. The tube station is close to our building complex, so getting on the tube to London OR transferring to the overground at Greenwich is fast and easy (you don't even need to change platforms). Public transport will take you to London Bridge or Charing Cross in 20 to 25 minutes for about £5. We have found transportation to most tourist destinations very easy (once you learn to read the train signs). Most public transport runs from 6am to midnight, so it's easy to get back, if you are lost or tired. A taxi from London Bridge usually costs about £20, including tip. We are new to the area, so we haven't tried too many local restaurants. We can generally get to the following places in around 30 to 45 minutes using public transport and walking - London Bridge, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, the London Eye, Charing Cross, Canary Wharf, Cannon Street Station, Waterloo Station. Something about ourselves

Rachel and I (Bryant) have been married 8 years. We are from the western USA, but have lived in NYC (Manhattan) for the last 7 years where I worked for a large accounting firm. Rachel studied piano pedagogy and marriage, family and human development in college. All 3 of our children were born in NYC. We are now in London on a 2 year tour with my work (same accounting firm) and we would like to travel and see as much of Europe as possible. Our children are 6, 3 and 2 years. We are clean, non-smoking parents looking for a great way to expose our kids to new cultures. We have never done a house swap, but are open to the adventure - and would love to make new friends. ![]()
