News Update - We are interested in any world-wide location but we are specifically looking for Australia in December and January 2011/12. Our daughter lives near Bondi in Sydney so a week near her during Christmas week would be great and we are also interested in the Margaret River area of the West and Tasmania, particularly the beautiful Eastern area.
We love sailing and are keen to try a motorhome so if you have a boat or an RV, maybe we could arrange a swap for one of those?
So here's the details on our apartment, which is a second home so we are flexible on dates and swaps:
It's a stylish apartment in a gated block in the very centre of London's West End between Covent Garden and Bloomsbury and adjacent to the British Museum. All the London sights, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and the River Thames with the London Eye, are close by. Soho with its world class restaurants, is on the doorstep and Covent Garden is two minutes walk. Superb transport links as we are between Tottenham Court Road and Holborn underground stations.
So here are the Swings and Roundabouts:
Swings
Please note: It's a ONE bedroom apartment but has sofa bed and camp bed for extra people. This may not be suitable for a longer stay but the temporary beds are comfortable.
We are in London's West End - the apartment is in an ultra-safe environment and on a side-street but Fridays and Saturdays can be noisy in the evening till late...nothing too bad but it's best to be aware.
Roundabouts
Simply speaking, you will not get a more central apartment closer to London's sights
It's a really fab apartment ('a bit like a luxury suite in a hotel' according to one of our recent swaps) with good helpful neighbours.
The apartment is in a gated block so excellent security. News Update - We are interested in any world-wide location but we are specifically looking for Australia in December and January 2011/12. Central for every London location and excellent transport links. Coptic Street has good restaurants, a wonderful Greek next door and the world's first Pizza Express, finer dining and great pubs are all around.
We are in the centre of Theatreland and many cinemas, the Royal Opera House is a stone's throw from our front door...the British Museum is completely free so you can cross the road from our front door and wander in as often as you like!
You cannot get a more central location in this world class city - in fact the famous building, Centrepoint, named because it is the exact centre of London, is in the next street. From our apartment, you can (and we do regularly) walk to every famous sight in Central London. We love to walk across the Royal parks (Regent's Park around the corner) to Buckingham Palace and even Harrods in Knightsbridge. Oxford Street is 30 seconds away and it only takes around 10 minutes (or two minutes by underground) to Oxford Circus, Regent's Street and Selfridges so shopping opportunities are also fantastic. Central for every London location and excellent transport links. Nik is a television journalist and presenter who has worked for the BBC for many years and now has his own communications company, which, takes him on assignments all over the world, especially the continent of Africa.
Cathy built a successful business which she sold to a UK plc several years ago so now enjoys a well-earned early retirement' and is a low handicap golfer, rising tennis star and collector of fine antiques and paintings.
We are outdoor adventure types - love long distance walking, cycling, sailing, horse riding, cooking al fresco and, of course, beautiful beaches but also cultural pursuits such as fine houses and castles.
