Description of our house

Our Victorian terraced house looks like many others from the outside, but inside it has many interesting features including an octagonal ground floor living room with an open fireplace and French doors to the cosy little garden. The garden has wooden benches, chairs and a table for al fresco eating and a BBQ. There is a kitchen with adjoining dining room and more doors into the garden. The middle floor has one single bedroom and a double bedroom both with basins in addition to the master bedroom with adjoining bathroom with seperate WC. The top floor has a single bedroom and small sundeck perched on the side of the roof (For the agile only! It's a wonderful little hideaway for those who wish to catch the sun without being noticed!). There is also a studio with double bed, and attic where short people can play. A secret passage with a climbing wall inside it links some of the above- come and discover which ones! Please do write if you are interested in a swap in August 2013 (4-6 adults) or a city break in October 2013 (2 couples).

We are situated in the heart of East London in a quiet neighbourhood with a the olympic park just a 25 minute walk away and a large park just 10 minutes walk away with a cafe serving organic food and 2 playgrounds. Because of excellent public transport nearby most of London can be reached easily. There is a bus stop 1 minute away on a bus route that takes you into the heart of London and many famous landmarks along the way. The underground station is 10 mins walk away. Teenagers love the independence this gives them. Take a stroll down the Roman Rd Market on a Saturday, 5 mins walk away or take the bus to the Sunday flower market at Columbia Rd around the corner from the famous Brick Lane market with its many retroshops, curry houses and unusual stalls. Don't forget to try the famous bagels from the 24hr bagel shop on Brick Lane! There are some good local pubs just minutes walk away as well as an excellent indian take away around the corner. Despite all this, the nights are quiet and you will sometimes forget you are close to the heart of London. ![]() Something about ourselves
