For those who want the advantages of being near one of the world's great cities yet having a quiet retreat from the excitement, I live just 22 minutes via train from Waterloo station in central London. I offer a lovingly maintained and warmly decorated 3 bedroom home (as pictures will show) in a town that is 1 mile from one of London's great parks...Richmond Park, which is ideal for walkers, runners and cyclists. My home has a modern kitchen (galley) that adjoins a conservatory (sun room) which we use as a dining room. The conservatory overlooks a garden that extends 60 feet and offers a large deck (great for outdoor eating and barbques) and a well maintained lawn and bed of flowers. The lounge / living room is open plan with a television, freeview tv, sofa and cozy chairs, gas fireplace and internet. Upstairs is a full bathroom, and 2 large bedrooms, each with a UK king sized bed. The third bedroom is used as a walk in closet. Therefore the house can accommodate 4 people (assuming 2 in each bed). In our garage, there are bicycles for your use.

New Malden is a safe and quiet surburban neighborhood within 5 miles of Wimbledon, which not only offers great tennis, but also a great village atmosphere. From New Malden, you have access by surburban train lines into London or other parts of England. In Wimbledon, the underground (subway/metro) trains are also available. If you tire from exploring London, you can visit Hampton Court (one of Henry VIII's palaces), Richmond upon Thames, and Richmond Park - all nearby. Other excursions, either by car or train, could take you to the Surrey Downs (1.5 hours), Windsor (1 hour), Bath (2 hours), the Cotswolds (2-3 hours)...The area is quiet and green, our neighbors are professional families with grown children. We are walking distance to the train station and 'high street' where you can find all conveniences (coffee bars, supermarkets, news agents, restaurants, gym). Larger towns with great shopping, cinema, and more restaurants are nearby in Kingston upon Thames (2.5 miles) or Wimbledon. ![]() Something about ourselves

I am a semi-retired management consultant who for the next chapter of my life has founded and manage a not for profit organic food scheme. I enjoy running, cycling, hiking, knitting, reading, restaurant eating, cooking and exploring. I am also a vegetarian. Now that I have more time to enjoy life, I would like to visit places in a more relaxed fashion. I successfully completed my first home exchange of 4 months in San Francisco and had a wonderful experience. Please contact me if you feel you would be interested in a home exchange. I can ensure you that I will treat your home as lovingly as I treat mine. And, I also adore cats so would welcome cat sitting too. ![]()
