Description of our house
Our home is a bright comfortable house in historic Portsmouth on the south coast of England. Reception room with log burning stove (for cosy winter nights), fully fitted and equipped kitchen, dining room overlooking sunny sheltered garden. Upstairs three bedrooms, two double bedrooms and one single. Garden with patio furniture and barbecue. Please note however, that as this is our holiday vacation rental home, it is normally only available for swaps between October and April each year, although other dates may be possible, please enquire. Non simultaneous swaps ok. We also have a two bedroom contemporary apartment and a one bedroom seafront apartment which we could swap.

Our neighborhoodPortsmouth is a historic city. As well as being the birthplace of authors Charles Dickens and H G Wells, it is the home of the historic Royal Naval dockyard. This is the home of Henry VIII's Mary Rose, Nelson's flagship Victory, HMS Warrior and the submarine museum. New attractions include the award winning Gunwharf Quays complex, with shops, restaurants, cinemas and the spectacular Spinnaker Tower, the tallest accessible building in the UK outside London, with 360 views from its 150m viewing platform. Portsmouth is also ideally placed for visiting other cities such as London and Brighton, the Isle of Wight is a short ferry or hovercraft ride away. In the surrounding area are many miles of varied coastline and pretty English villages.

Something about ourselvesWe are Valerie and Mike, a couple in our forties. Valerie works for the court service and Mike runs our holiday accommodation rental business. We like to travel and have already several exchanges from Germany, Italy and France. We are open to offers from anywhere and would consider short breaks (2- 5 days) as well as longer (up to 2 weeks). We may sometimes travel with our grown up children.
