Located 20 minutes by bike to Manchester city centre with all that it offers, our house is situated in a quiet residential area with all conveniences within walking distance.

Immediately opposite out house is Longford park, one of the nicest in Manchester. It has free tennis courts, large fields for walking, pets corner with avery and ducks, rabbits, chickens etc.. Football pitches, childrens play areas for all ages, bouldering wall, rope slide etc..

There are convenience shops about 4 minutes walking distance, but a little further (10 mins) and you can walk to Chorlton town centre, one of the most desirable suburban centres in Manchester. A self contained town in its own right with a great selection of restaurants, bars, and well known for it's excellent independent shops including European bakeries and delis, organic vegetable markets, fish mongers and one of the best butchers you will find.

If you like hiking or cycling, 10 minutes on foot will take you onto the trans-penine trail linking you in with hundreds of miles of greenspace to explore. The Mersey River and historic canal network can both be easily explored.

We are located on bus routes, and the tram line which can enable you to get around Manchester and parts of Cheshire very easily.

Within an hour, or there abouts you can easily explore the surrounding countryside and neighboring cities including:
Peak District National Park (excellent climbing, hiking and mountain biking)
Liverpool City Centre (European city of culture, home of the Beatles)
Merseyside Coast and Beaches.
Leeds City Centre.
Chester (Historic walled City).
National Trust Historical Buildling and Gardens.
Yorkshire Dales.
Wales.

There's much more to see, and we'd be more than happy to help you plan a trip that suits you.

For sports fans we are 10 minutes walk to Old Trafford Cricket Ground and about 15 minutes to Manchester United's Stadium.

For shopping we are 10 minutes drive from the Trafford Centre, and indoor shopping centre with hundreds of shops, cinema and entertainment, ideal for rainy days.

Our house is located a short drive (8 miles) from Manchester Airport.

Oh, I have an allotment nearby which you are welcome to tend and harvest in my absence!

We are a professional couple in our early thirties and have a one year old boy. I currently work for a national charity and my partner works for one of the local city councils looking after their parks and countryside.

I grew up in Sydney, Australia, and like to visit friends and family there when I can.

We both enjoy gardening and getting out to the surrounding countryside to walk and cycle when we can. We also enjoy eating out and exploring the many gastro pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.

We both enjoy travelling and would be interested to hear from people all over the world.

Our next trip will be to Sydney at the end of the year for a family wedding.
