Description of our house

This is our family home. It is a spacious Victorian house in quiet semi cul-de-sac street in suburban South London, yet 12 minutes by train to London Bridge and the South Bank of the river Thames. The house has spacious living areas. A vine leaved conservatory provides light in summer and winter. A quaint and pretty garden provides opportunities for slow and relaxing summer BBQs. Kitchen has everything from tumble dryer to bread maker to vegetable juicer. There is a master bedroom with double bed, guest bedroom with double bed, spacious baby room with double blow up mattress. The living room has a comfortable thick mattress double futon (very good for the back)

Our neighborhood

East Dulwich is a lively yet peaceful suburb with a village feel. Within 6 minute walk you have an indoor market, various delicatessens and a wide variety of restaurants from Turkish to Indian to Thai to French to a multi award winning gastro pub. Trains will take you to the centre of London within 12 minutes. There are 2 parks within short walking distance from the house. We could offer you our family size car, insured, if you wish to explore areas outside of London (Brighton and the south coast, Kent and the countryside, etc.)

Something about ourselves

I am a professional, my wife is a mosaic artist (she has left many traces of her work around the house), and we have a 1 year old baby boy. We also have a nanny travelling with us. We are a polyglot family (me South African, my wife French, our son English, our nanny Italian-Gaboneze). This is the first time we try home exchanging and we hope to meet people we can trust and share and exchange the real local experience with. We are quite flexible on times because our son is not going to school yet.
