Our home is a three-bedroom flat in North London. We have the bottom two floors of what used to be a Victorian town mansion, about 100 years old. There is a large and beautiful south-facing garden at the back, including a patio complete with barbeque and lighting. In front, we have a private parking space.
The living room/dining room faces on to the garden, which is reached via balcony (ideal for summer drinks or meals) and steps. The flat has been recently refurbished with new bathroom, kitchen, and living room. There are 2 double bedrooms and one large room with a single bed. There is also a study complete with computer and fax machine.
The flat is in South Hampstead, about 10 minutes from central London by Underground or car - ideal for visiting the city's many tourist sites and attractions. We are only a 5 minute walk to the Underground station (Finchley Road),as well as other trains and buses to town. Our home is on a lovely tree-lined, quiet road, but only a five or 10-minute walk from a good variety of shops, restaurants, cinemas and theatres. We are also a 10-minute drive from Hampstead Heath, London's finest park for walks and picnics.
My husband Charlie and I, Naomi, are a newly married couple in our early 50's. I have a private practice at home in Psychotherapy, and also work part time as a journalist. Charlie is the sports editor for the Financial Times, where he has been working for over 20 years. Although I've lived in London for over 20 years, I'm originally from Santa Monica and still have many friends on the West Coast. Hopefully, we'd like to find a home in Northern California close to friends and family in San Francisco and Napa Valley. Although we enjoy all the entertainment London has to offer, when on holiday we love the quiet outdoors where we can enjoy our sports.
