We offer a good size home with large garden which wraps around our house (be sure to view all the photos). We have a lounge with views to the park opposite where there is a fireplace and TV with cable. Then we have a family room open plan to the dining area and leading to the kitchen and utility area. The family room is where we spend the most time and there is a large TV with internet and cable offering many channels. Upstairs there is the main bedroom with double bed, large second bedroom with a single bed, a third bedroom (which is not offered for use) and the bathroom. In the garden there are a couple of patio areas and a 32ft heated in-ground swimming pool. Situated opposite the house is a very large park incorporating a sports centre, bowls club, children's play area, tennis courts, river, two lakes and acres of greenery. A ten minute walk takes you to our local town centre offering excellent shopping facilities, good quality supermarkets, banks, loads of restaurants catering for all tastes i.e., French, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Turkish, Indian etc., a theatre (which often shows West End productions), a French patisserie where they make their own delicious bread & cakes on the premises, coffee shops, traditional English pubs and a wine bar. We are within walking distance to a regular bus service allowing easy access to various other town centres, a large shopping mall, a big street market full of characters selling fruit, vegetables, fish, clothes, flowers, etc and you can either take the bus or walk to the local tube station which will take you to central London in approx. 30 mins (the trains run every few minutes). Numerous golf courses are nearby together with a golfing range. You can also get the train to Canary Wharf or the Olympic site where the games have just been held (to drive takes about 25 minutes). Depending where you are travelling from, you can arrive by various airports including; London Heathrow, Gatwick, London City Airport, Luton and Stansted.

We are located close to two tube stations which are directly linked to Central London allowing easy access to the City and West End of London for shopping in our famous streets & stores; Oxford St, Bond St, Selfridges or Harrods (where you could also take afternoon tea!) Or take in a show at the many London Theatres. Visit The Household Cavalry Museum in the heart of Royal London at Horse Guards (official entrance to the Royal Residences) which offers a truly enriching experience celebrating the history, heroes and exploits of the British Army’s senior regiment from its origins in 1661. Most of our London Museums have free entry - The Natural History Museum where you can see the newly opened Darwin Centre and of course, the dinosaurs! The Victoria & Albert Museum, Science Museum, British Museum, Imperial War Museum, Museum of London and a few more. A must visit is to The Tower of London where you can join a Yeoman Warder tour (included in the admission ticket) & see the Crown jewels & the Prisoners of the Tower exhibition. Other attractions worth a visit are The London Dungeon, Houses of Parliment and Westminster Abbey (where the recent Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton took place). All these places are very easy to access. Do the London Sightseeing Hop-on-Hop-off tour on board our famous red buses. Your ticket also includes a FREE Hop-on Hop-off Thames river cruise as well as three FREE walking tours: a Changing of the Guard walk, a Royal Wedding walking tour and a Jack the Ripper walk following in the footsteps of the world's most infamous serial killer! If you love art (as I do) Thames Clippers also provide the popular Tate to Tate boat between Tate Britain and Tate Modern (both with free entry) & you will pass the Houses of Parliment & St. Pauls Cathedral. Access to the M25 is about 10 minutes away (which is the major motorway network) allowing access to wherever you want to go i.e., Oxford, The Cotswolds (beautiful), Warwick Castle or perhaps Stonehenge or Windsor Castle.

Want to go to France from the UK? Eurostar now links London and Paris in just 2¼ hours, centre to centre. You can also fly to France from various airports all situated not far from us including London City Airport which is approx. 25 mins by car. Alternatively get the ferry which sails from Dover Eastern Docks to Calais every hour or two, crossing time 1 hour 30 minutes.

It is also easy to get to Ireland from where we live by flying out from Gatwick, Luton, and Stansted airport. These airports are closer to us than Heathrow though you can fly to Ireland from there too.

You would have the use of 2 adult bikes (one road bike & one mountain bike), 2 sets of golf clubs and 2 squash racquets (squash courts in sports center opposite our house).

We are Mandy & Ken a married couple with two grown up children. I work part-time in real estate and my husband works in senior management. We have completed two home exchanges, both to Australia. For 2013 we welcome interest from the USA (especially Hilton head) Europe, Australia & Canada. We would be happy to exchange cars allowing both parties to explore their surroundings. Our exchanges can only be for a period of approx.2 weeks (3 weeks max) due to work commitments. Sorry but we are not interested in non-simultaneous exchanges. Please note we only accommodate a maximum of three people.
