Description of our house
Fall in love with one of the most iconic houses in beautiful Lyme Regis. Located right on the seafront (with only a footway between you and the sea), Sundial House has long been admired for it's stunning 'Arts and Crafts' facade. Most of this unique grade II listed property is now avaiable as a swap for a couple or small family. The house has it's own charming seafront terrace, and is full of wonderful period detail, decorated in keeping with the Arts and Crafts style and furnished with antiques. And of course there are the breathtaking views and the beach a few yards beyond the front gate. Equally lovely through all the seasons, Sundial House is the perfect destination for those looking for that really romantic or memorable break in the most wonderful of seafront settings.

Our neighborhoodRight on the front in the charming town of Lyme Regis. We're on the South West coast path on the World Heritage coastline, so the walks round here are incredible, with national parkland 5 minutes walk away. Although Lyme has a tiny population of 4000, we can boast a fabulous mill and bakery, Mark Hix' new restaurant, numerous cafes and bars, second hand bookshops, a great fish shop, many lovely one off shops - some owned by local artists and writers, a boots, a theatre, and a wonderful Art Deco Cinema. Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's Park Farm is just about 10 minutes away [amazing!] and the nearest town, Axminster, has fast trains to London, and Hugh's shop and restaurant. Bridport and Charmouth, to the East are also fun to explore.

Something about ourselvesWe are a recently married couple in our 30s who work in the Arts (Casting Director and writer) and currently rent our house out for times when work means we need to be in London (it gets 4 stars from the tourist board and rents for over £1250 in peak weeks). People seem to absolutely love the house, the guest book is always really lovely to read. In a couple of weeks we're embarking on IVF in Brighton which means that we will need a place there for at least 2 weeks and maybe 3 or even 4 each cycle - we have been told to expect it will take a while for us. We would also be think about swaps elsewhere - Boston in early November? Italy? Spain?
