Our house is a spacious welcoming family cottage (with lots of original features) where we have lived happily with our 4 children for 14 years. It would be a comfortable place to stay, especially with children, because we have lots of things to do both in the house and garden. There is a treehouse, table tennis, trampoline, swing, badminton and a small pool outside and lots of games and books inside.

![]() Our neighborhood
We live just at the bottom of Gold Hill of the Hovis advert fame. The house is in a very picturesque street near shops but also near lots of wonderful countryside. The neighbourhood is welcoming and helpful. There are plenty of historic and artistic attractions nearby and many places specially set up to have a good day out with the children. There is a good range of different sorts of restaurants and pubs to eat in nearby. The beach is 50 mins away and London is 2 hours by train. Salisbury, Bath and Poole are all less than an hour away. Something about ourselves
We are both teachers, Paul of Drama in a comprehensive school and Julia in Adult Education and Family Learning. We have done many swaps all over Europe and in England and Wales and enjoyed them all enormously. Those who have exchanged with us seem to have been very happy staying in our house too. This year our eldest son may not come with us because he is now at university, so it may be just Ella(18), Leo (14) and Seth (10)with whom we are hoping to carry on roaming! ![]()
