My home is spacious light and comfortable, an easy home to live in and relax in. The sitting-room opens onto a pretty courtyard garden, which is lovely for enjoying the sunshine. The kitchen/diner is a good size, with all the usual appliances. From the kitchen, a door leads into a pleasant, sunny, self-contained annexe, perfect for guests. It comprises a kitchen, cloakroom, bed-sitting room and large bathroom. Upstairs there are three further bedrooms, one en-suite and a family bathroom.

We are five minutes on foot to the centre of Bakewell, but my house is tucked away and very quiet. Bakewell has lovely gift shops, tea-shops(lots!), pubs and a variety of restaurants. It is a delightful market town, surrounded by beautiful countryside. There are many opportunities for hiking and cycling. Bakewell has a library, swimming-pool, small gym, sports fields, supermarket(5 mins) and a river with lots of ducks. Good public transport links with nearby towns such as Buxton, Matlock, Chesterfield and Sheffield. We have the best of both worlds here, lovely countryside and the big city attractions of Sheffield within easy reach. Our central position opens up possibilities of travelling to many parts of England, Scotland and Wales. ![]() Something about ourselves

I am Pauline and in my late 50's. I have a son and a daughter who are both at University. Travelling is my passion, and I love the opportunity swapping gives, to really understand a place. I have swapped several times now, including six months in New Zealand and all have been very successful.Ideally I would like to be in the southern hemisphere for up to three months at the beginning of 2012,although I realise this isn't the best time to visit England! I will be in Japan for Christmas, so the house would be available over the Christmas period. I would, of course, treat your home with the utmost respect. ![]()
