Description of our house

The farmhouse is situated in a rural area close to the cornish cliffs. The view is across a valley designated as being of outstanding natural beauty with view out to the Atlantic. The garden has several slate terraces for al fresco dining, a pizza oven, a meadow and wildlife pond. On some evenings you can watch barn owls hunting across the valley and in the summer months the swallows dip their wings over the pond.There is a summer house should you want to sleep sheltered from the dew but in the open air .

The house is close to the coastal path and a number of sandy beaches with spectacular cliffs where you can swim or surf. The situation is secluded within a group of properties including a working farm but is quiet. The weather is Atlantic and coastal and can range from scorching hot [by British standards] to wild with violent breaking waves and stormy seas. The house has been in our family for 40 years and has been carefully restored by us retaining the traditional feel but fully refurbished so that it is comfortable and warm as well as being cool in the summer months. Colin is a builder and musician and I am a doctor . We are interested in art and music and history.Our children have left school and are at university allowing us more freedom to travel either with or without the children.We like walking in the countryside but also wish to visit cities for museums ,galleries and to look at buildings .
