Our large home is in a quiet residential neighbourhood and has a pretty garden flat on the ground floor. There is a large lounge with a dining area - attractively decorated and opening on to a terrace and garden, one small double bedroom, a newly fully fitted kitchen and a bathroom. The flat is small compared to some homes offered - but we have already had 5 very successful exchanges and our guests always find the flat comfortable. There is of course tv and video. We are a professional couple (seniors) and have an office with computer access for guests if they wish. The flat has just one bedroom and is ideal for couples but by arrangement we could offer a second bedroom in our home if required. There is a post office, greengrocers, newsagent and small supermarket within walking distance and a bus takes you to the town of Slough in 10 minutes. The garden and fishpond are very pretty in summer and you can take breakfast on the terrace in good weather. There is a large public park nearby - or you could walk to Datchet, Eton or Windsor if you are keen walkers.

We live in a small cul-de-sac in a quiet suburban area but within easy reach of London (train 35 minutes or 20 miles by car) We are 5 miles from Windsor, a lively resort town with a huge castle, and within easy access by car of very beautiful countryside. Burnham Beeches, the Chiltern Hills, Windsor Great Park are all nearby. There are many small towns and villages within a short drive - Runnymede, Egham, Maidenhead, Amersham, Henley and Beaconsfield for example. Both Slough and Windsor are good shopping centres The location is a great centre for touring. Nearby access to both the M4, M25 and M40 means it is very easy to drive to most parts of Southern England - towns such as Bath, Brighton, Oxford or areas such as Dorset, Somerset or Sussex are all accessible. It is possible to travel to London by train or by bus and Heathrow Airport is just 5 miles away. (We could by arrangement meet guests at the airport). There are good restaurants nearby. We (Ann and Peter) are a professional couple - seniors and trying to retire but as we run a national drug prevention charity it is very difficult to give up as the work is both necessary and extremely varied and interesting. We have been involved in this work for 20 years - Peter was previously a chartered civil engineer - and we work with many colleagues in all parts of the world. We travel extensively - both for business and pleasure. Peter is a well known speaker internationally and we have in recent years been invited to speak at conferences in many countries including America, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Sweden, Argentina, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania ! We are sociable and have a close family. Our children are now grown up and we have grandchildren who we love to visit. We both like theatre, cinema, reading and dining out. Peter sings in a Barber Shop Choir and Ann is one of the Red Hatters. We have recently spent a holiday in New Zealand and managed an exchange in Australia at the same time. Our home is full of books for those of you who enjoy reading, and we can give advice on all the possible places you could visit from this base.
