Our home is a cozy house from the 1930's. It's arranged in a mix of old and modern style - all in good shape so that it can be used every day by adults and children. It has a dining /living room combined with the kitchen. The dining room has a big dining table, 4 chairs and 2 children chairs. A big spacious sofa and TV/cable. In the living room we also have some of the kids toys. In the basement is a bathroom with adjoin walking-closet and also an extra sleeping room (with a double bed) - usually used for guests. On the 1st floor the 3 bedrooms are located: Parents' bedroom with double bed and two children bedrooms with children's beds (70cmx160cm). Besides central heating we have a woodburning stove.
From the living room you can walk to the terrace with chairs and dining table. From he terrace there is a good view over the neighbourhood and the skyline of Ørestad City. In the garden there is a grill/barbecue, children's swing and bikes and toys for children, sand to play in and a nice playhouse. We also have a big tampoline, for both kids and adults. The garden is closed, so that children can't leave the area.
We have 3 bikes for adults, 2 of them is with seats for children. 1 big bike with a box in front of it for 2-3 children. 1 bike for a child 5 years old. Our home is a cozy house from the 1930's. Our location is very near metro and train station (max 10 min. walk) and only 10 minutes travel time to center of CPH. Traveltime from CPH airport is 5-10 min. It is a quiet place in residential streets, where all the neighbours are families living in houses. You are very close to many locations which you can reach easily in short time. Nature and woods, 5km from the fine beach at the east cost (Amager Strandpark).
It is easy to take the bus (1 min from house) or metro (5 min from house) to the centre of Copenhagen. With metro it takes 10 min. It is also very easy and safe to bike in Denmark, you cantake the bicycle from our house to the center of Copenhagen, it takes about 25 min.
Copenhagen is childfriendly. There are many playgrounds, also nearby. Many museums (all kinds) have special activities for families with children. My wife, Pernille (schoolteacher) and I, Mikkel (engineer) are in the early/mid thirties and have two smaller children (Filippa aged 3 and Markus aged 5). In the summer 2012 we had our first houseswap to Chartres, France. It was a succes. We find that we have a nice home, which our friends and family always have loved and enjoyed to visit. We find that the location of our home is very attractive - both for couples with and without children.
As long as our children are small we prefer to travel to places where the surroundings permit the family to relax, play and cook. We love to swim /bath (pool, beach, lake) when traveling and we would like to travel to areas with variating locations to visit close by - both in the nature and in the city.
We are very openminded people and will do our best to take care of other's home as if it was our own. We are comfortable about letting other people stay in our home and trust that they will feel at home in our house.
