Our house is build in 1945 and completely renovated in 2009. The style is Nordic minimalism: wooden floors, white walls, and a stone wall. The house is spacious and all rooms have large windows or skylight windows. We like to keep the decoration simple which meens that we do not have a lot of personal things. The house has two floors with a bathroom on each floor. We have three kids so the house is fully equipped for children: safety barriers for the stairs, changing table, chairs for small children, Nintendo Wii, dvd player, home theatre stereo and of course toys. There is a master bedroom and two childrens rooms with childrens beds. You will also find two mattresses if the beds are too small... Like the rest of the house the fully equipped kitchen is spacious, new and modern.
In the garden you will find shade under the old apple trees, there is furnitures, a Weber gas grill, space for playing soccer, child swings and a trampoline. Our house has been a large project and our next project will be a new terrace. Our house is build in 1945 and completely renovated in 2009. Our neighbourhood is villas and you have easy access by car (no parking fee). The public transportation is well developped in Copenhagen so you do not need a car. Within few minutes you reach the Metro (direct to the airport and center), local train and buses.
You only need to walk 4min to shop basic groceries (open 8am to 10pm). Several shops, play grounds, restaurants and cafes in walking distance. A nice place for a walk!
Vanløse is the perfect spot to explore inner Copenhagen and surrounding sights. Popular sightd like the queens palace (Amalienborg), Nyhavn, Strøget (the pedestrian zone), the Little Mermaid, Tivoli, Rosenborg, Christiana etc. are just a short metro ride away! If you like art do not miss Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek; Arken Museun af modern art, Louisiana Museum af modern art, Statens Museum for Kunst. Danish design can be studied at Danish Design Center and in manu shops as well. If you travel with children you may want to visit the zoo, Bakken or Experimentarium. Copenhagen has many parks and gardens, and if you try the Canal Tours you will see the city from a different point of view. If you - like us - like architecture there is many possibilities to study as well contemporary constructions as historical buildings in Copenhagen. You can even go to the beach. And if it isn't enough, Sweden is less than an hour away. Please visit the site http://www.visitcopenhagen.com (in englich, german and scandinavian languages) for further information and inspiration. We are a young family with a boy aged 8½, a girl aged 4½ and a boy aged 2½. She is a teacher and he is a shop keeper selling kitchens. We like design, architecture, urban living and having time with our kids. During holidays we like to swin and play in the water - so we like to be close to a beach or having access to a swimming pool. The ideal home exchange for us would be with a family with smaller kids.
