Description of our house
We live in a modern town house from 2003. It's furnished with a mix of Danish and Scandinavian design, comfortable and practical solutions when living with children, portraits of friends and family, books and records and a lot of Lego and Brio wooden train.
Our home is situated in an area well away from traffic - making it possible for children to play safely in the common areas behind our house. A small playground is placed just in front of our terrace, and a huge playground is only one street away.
All our neighbours have children of various ages. They are all very friendly and will be able to assist you with practical matters about the house (as they live in similar houses). Some of our neighbours are experienced houseexchangers!
The house is three stories high - each floor being 40m2. The ground level has a kitchen with a large dinner table and with access to our terrace - making it easy to be dining outside and enjoying the light Scandinavian summer nights. The first floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom and the second floor has a living room and a spare bedroom.

Our neighborhoodOur home is located on Amager - close to both the beach and the city. There is a 10 minutes ride on cycle path to Amager Beach Park (1,4 km.). The historical city centre of Copenhagen is 15 minutes away on bike or by metro (3,9 km.). Shopping, playgrounds and cafés – everything is just on the doorstep. The nearby metro and buses takes you to the famous architechtural sites, the zoo, Christiania, the exciting renewed harbour and all the fun at Tivoli within minutes.

Something about ourselvesWe are a family of four: Rikke and Jesper (both 39) and our two sons, Julius (6) and Arthur (4). Rikke works as senior advisor at the City of Copenhagen. Jesper works as senior strategic planner at an advertising agency.
In our spare time we have fun with the boys, ex. go to our excellent zoo or the swimming bath. We cycle to our "own" sea promenade with all the beach gear in our Christiania-bike (see picture) or go to one of the many nearby playgrounds. We cycle a lot since that is the easiest way to get around in Copenhagen. We often invite friends or family to come over for dinner and a board game. And Julius and Arthur play with the children next door while we chill out at our terrace or chat with their parents, (all neighbours speak English, some speak Spanish and German). At winter we love to go skiing.
We swapped homes 2 times with family with children as well. We skyped a few times on beforehand and got to know each other a bit. We had a wonderful time, and they loved it here! So we are ready for a new great exchange experience.
Unfortunately Julius is allergic to cats/dogs, so it is not possible for us to exchange homes with you if you have any of these pets.
We have allready made plans fore the Summer 2008, but long weekends in Europe is more than welcome - the same is skiing in the wintertime
We know that it is a bit early, but the first 3 months of 2011 we would like a long term exchange to go skiing in the Dolomites if you can help us we would love that
