Description of our house

The house is a cozy wooden house situated on a large and beautiful undisturbed site. In the garden you find many small cozy nooks for relaxation and plenty of areas for the kids to play in. There are different places with herbs, flowers, berries and various vegetables for free use - and we have 6 hens and a rooster who provide wonderful eggs for you every morning, if you like.

The house is in two levels. The first level consists of a scullery with a zink, washingmaschine, dryer, freezer and it's the main entrance from the garden. Then you enter a new kitchen with a dining area for 6 adults (Two children's chairs are available). The kitchen is the heart of the house and from there you enter both the small living room with sofa, stove, flat screen TV (cable), dvd and hifi and access to the garden. Up the latter you have a 20 m2 loft used for playroom an possible bedroom for 2 people. 2 steps down you have an office and a bedroom with a double bed and 2 beds for young children and access to the garden. The bathroom/wc is small but functional. Furthermore we have a lovely annexe on 18 m2 with a double and single bed. The annexe is sisuated 5 steps from the main entrance and view to the garden.

The house is a wooden country house with a very nice and private 3000 m2 garden perfect for children to play in. It's situated in idyllic surroundings of North Sealand. It is a scenic area with only 200 metres to Denmark's largest lake " Arresø". 10 km to the famous Tisvildeleje (holiday village and beach). 30 km to the Hamlet town Elsinore and Kronborg Castle. 50 km to the capital "Copenhagen" - and if you want to visit Sweden you can reach Helsingborg within an hour. You have the opportunity to visit various museums and galleries eg "Louisiana Museum of Modern Art" in Humlebæk.

We are a family of 6 people. We have 4 kids in the age of 1-14. The house is originally bought as our summer house but because it's such a fantastic area we all love, we decided to move from Copenhagen to live here permanently. Despite the lack of space we enjoy it here.

My name is Sophie and I'm 33 years old and educated textile designer. My husband Morten is 38, he is a music manager and works in a concert house.

We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try. It sounds like a great way to explore other countries. We would prefer to exchange with someone who lives "near" a beach suitable for young children.
