A nice and bright house in the town called Lystrup. 10 km north of Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark. The house has a bedroom with a doublebed (180 cm wide), three single bedrooms: Frejas room with one bed 90 cm wide and Nikolines room with a sofabed 140 cm wide and our 'office'/guestroom (one bed 120 cm wide) with a computer and a second TV. One of the two bathrooms contains a bathtub. The house is light and cousy with all modern facilities. The centre of the house is our kitchen/living room and dining area with a beautiful view to the garden and neighbourhood lake (not for swimming, though) - closely connected to a 60 m2 terrace used not at least for sunbathing, barbecueing and playground for our two girls (swings, slide, sandpit, hammock, inflatable swimmingpool etc).

Our home is located in a nice and quiet village called Lystrup, and only 15 driving-minutes from downtown Aarhus. Lystrup and all the surrounding area is well connected with cycle paths. Good shopping close by and great nature. It is a new and quiet neigbourhood with public footpathes all around and a public playground is situated only 200 m from the house. Public transportation (bus) 0,5 km, (train) 2,5 km, shopping 1,5 km, beaches 5-8 km. Aarhus is a very beautiful city: A river divides the central city, and along the canal there are lots of cafées, boutiques and restaurants. There are plenty of galleries and the rather new modern art museum, Aros. There is also an 'old city' museum "Den gamle by" which is designed like a town from the 17th century. And then there are of course the beautiful beaches and forests around Aarhus. Skagen, with its famous museums and nature are only a couple of hours to the north and Copenhagen is only a three hours drive away. Within a half to one and a half hours drive there are plenty of attractions for families with children in all ages: Fun parks (Legoland, Djurs Sommerland), Animal Parks (Randers Regnskov, Scandinavian Animalpark, Ebeltoft Zoo), Shark Centre and lots more. We are a family of four: John (engineer), Marianne (nurse) and our two girls Nikoline (age 13) and Freja (age 10). We like to travel to other countries and see new places: experience the local atmosphere and local cuisine, we like to relax at the beach, dive, swim, hike, jog, visit local attractions and galleries. We have had four great exchanges - South of England, Summer 2009 and Bergen, Holland, Summer 2010 and Western France, Summer 2011 and Western Sweden, Summer 2012. This year we would like to go to the South of France, Northern Spain or Italy - places near the Ocean - we are open though for other destinations so feel free to contact us. ![]()
