The apartment is situated in the "bel etage" of a typical Vinohrady Wilhelminian town house from around 1910. But the interior is more some kind of eclectical mix between Baroque, Biedermeier, Functionalism, Pop Art - everything under close to 4m high ceilings and on oak parquet floor. The flat consists of a big livingroom (with a huge, but fine selection of electronic and classical music and a small balcony towards the street, where one can spend endless hours watching the people passing by), a study (with a tiny library of American/English, German and Czech authors), a master bedroom, a big eat-in kitchen, a bathroom with bathtub, a hall and a toilet. The place lies just in-between two parks (Riegrovy Sady and Havlickovy Sady with Villa Gröbovka, the latter with a vineyard) offering a breathtaking view over Prague, plenty of nice venues for picknicks, a beergarden and a small pavillon to have a sip of Moravian wine. In the winter time even with tobogganing.

Prague, but especially Prague-Vineyards (Vinohrady) in the middle of Europe is just not to be topped: plenty of cosy cafes, fancy restaurants, down-to-earth pubs, the best delis and bio/organic food shops in town, young and old Czechs mingling with a new international crowd enjoying living in maybe the most cosmopolitan urban part of Czech Republic. And Vinohrady is also the best quarter possible for getting known to all the different faces of Prague (artsy, laid back-bourgeois, touristic). You're just a 15 min. walk away from downtown with Wenceslas square and all the major sightseeing points, having perfect access to public transportation (tram and metro). You can also enjoy Zizkov and Vrsovice (even in closer walking distance), both of these parts of town beeing s.th. like the current/future boheme centers of Prague with off-galleries, cafes and clubs, where students, artists and intellectuals gather. In short: the ultimate stay for urban travellers.

Me (37, freelance translator, wanna-be writer and photographer), I moved to Prague twelve years ago (from Hamburg, Germany) to see how everything would change after Velvet Revolution. Already back then I moved into my current apartment, of which I still think: this is home. So this is a very personal place which grew with me throughout the last years. And as much as I do appreciate a warm resort to lay my head I would respect your home as a precious refuge. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
