Description of our house

Our compact home is situated in a small community of 22 houses. We have all appliances, including a wide-screen satellite tv receiving all UK programmes and Sky TV.We have internet broadband and our laptop is at your disposal. The main bedroom and the second bedroom both have double beds, the third bedroom has a single bed and another TV, in case you want to watch a different programme from that in the lounge! All rooms have ceiling fans, fly screens and aircon. Our house is fully equipped with sunbeds and parasols for days at the beach or around the pool. We have 2 local tavernas within easy walking distance which serve typical Greek food. However 6kms away there is the bustling city of Paphos offering many fine ethnic restaurants, beaches, a waterpark and many watersports. Paphos is a World Heritage Site with a mosaics park, museums and many other historical sites. In our village of Armou there are hiking trails and another couple of coffee shops. Our home is air-conditioned and light and airy, with all mod cons. There are 3 championship golf courses within a 20 minute drive of our home, the nearest being Minthis Hills only 5 minutes away. There is another golf course designed by Nick Faldo, which is again a 20 minute drive away.We have 3 cats who come and go as they please via a cat-flap. They come as part of the exchange package, but our neighbour will feed them if you want to go away for a couple of days. As there are steps from where we park the car to the house, and as the house is on 2 floors, we suggest it is not suitable for someone with mobility problems, or for very young children.

A short drive along the (only)motorway are the coastal cities of Limassol and Larnaca-both very popular with tourists. Nicosia, the capital, is well worth a visit. There are now no restrictions on visiting the beautiful areas in the North of Cyprus-across the Green Line-just show your driving licence and passport and off you go! A little further afield are the beautiful beaches on the East coast of the island. They can be accessed as a day trip, but the hotels are so cheap you might as well stay over for a couple of days! ![]() Something about ourselves

Alan (60) is retired Royal Air Force and Sue (66)is a "retired" Special Needs teacher-who still keeps her hand in with private tutoring. Neither of us smoke. Alan plays golf at Minthis Hills Golf Club and takes his clubs wherever we travel in the world! However there is a spare set in the house together with an electric trolley.Have a look at the website of the Cyprus Golf Federation-http://www.cgf.com.cy for details of the golf clubs. We love to hike and we also do bird-watching as our main hobby. We have 2 married daughters,4 grand-daughters and 2 great-grandsons who all live in the UK. We have been house exchanging since the early nineties-the latest being swaps to Virginia, USA in May 2008 and to Brisbane, Australia in October/November 2009. We exchanged in France in 2010 and another swap to Australia in October 2011. We exchanged to Portland, Maine, USA in the Fall of 2012. We are just 2 travellers and we are open to offers. We can supply references. We offer our small Mazda Demio car (automatic) as part of the exchange and/or our Honda CRV manual should you wish to drive off-road. We always aim to reply to any and all enquiries. In 2013 we have just arranged an exchange to Malta in May for a couple of weeks, and are looking for a swap to a European destination for Autumn 2013. ![]()
