Our home is a five year old detached 3 bedroomed villa with a double garage and 10 x 5 meter swimming pool, set in large landscaped gardens on the outskirts of Maroni village. It is in a quiet setting, surrounded by fields but within a 10 minute walk of the village centre.
The property is modern and bright with granite floors on the lower level and tiled flooring on the first floor. The ground floor is open plan with a spacious lounge, dining room and fully fitted kitchen/breakfast room with granite work surfaces.
The villa has three double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes, an en suite shower room and a family bathroom. There is a king sized bed in master bedroom, double bed in the second bedroom and twin beds in the third bedroom. The master bedroom benefits from a 6 square metre private terrace overlooking the pool and gardens to the rear. It also has a balcony at the front with a distant view of the sea. The second bedroom also has a balcony with views of the sea, gardens and pool.
The gardens face south west and there are some wonderful sunsets over the village and the Troodos mountains. The swimming pool is open from the end of April until the end of October. Maroni is a charming, traditional, unspoilt village 2 kms from the coast. It is conveniently situated, 2 kms from the motorway leading to Larnaca, Limassol and Nicosia. It is a 25 minute drive to Larnaca airport and a 60 minute drive to Paphos airport.
There are small convenience stores in Maroni and the adjoining villages and a large supermarket is within a 10 minute drive. The village has its own taverna and coffee shop within walking distance, where you will meet with true Cypriot hospitality. In neighbouring Zygi, there are numerous restaurants on the seafront, serving Cypriot seafood including a traditional meze. An excellent Mediterranean style restaurant can be found in the adjoining village of Psematismenos (5 minutes' drive away.
In and around Limassol, there are a number of archaeological sites including the Roman ruins at Amathus (20 mins drive) and the Greek/Roman Amphitheatre and the stadium at Kourion (50 minutes drive. Limassol is also known for its long stretches of sandy beaches. In Larnaca, the salt lakes are renowned for their abundance of Flamingos and other migratory birds during the winter months. Our names are Peter and Pam. We originally come from Hertfordshire in the UK.
We took early retirement and moved to Cyprus to enjoy the warm weather and relaxed lifestyle. We chose the perfect spot to build our home, in a peaceful location with distance views of the Troodos mountains in one direction and the sea in the other.
We have two grown up sons who live away from home.
Although we love our life here, we would like to travel within Europe for holidays e.g. Croatia, Spain, Austria, Italy and Germany.
We are unable to do long haul travel.
If exchanging with a similar sized property, there is the possibility that we may also invite our two sons and their wives to join us.
We are tidy and responsible people and will take care of your home (and cat!) if you have one. Sadly, our own cat died recently at the age of 17 but she had a happy retirement in the sunshine. Our names are Peter and Pam. We originally come from Hertfordshire in the UK.
