Losinj is a real uniqe place in the Adriatic Sea. It's very hard to compare it to other Croatian islands or even to other Mediterranean islands .... Losinj is just Losinj. Just a must see location.

A real biking/hiking paradise now and also used to be a health resort in the last centuries for the Austrian-Hungarian upper class. You can still visit their holiday castles/residencies, because most of them are well renovated or kept as Hotel or private residence. Recently Losinj island is a well reputed asthmatic health sanatorium destination for those who has asthma problems. Well almost everybody has it....
So, the air here is extremely clean for sure. The weather of the island is having his own unique microclimate. Little spring all the time...

It means, when there is a rain and storm in the mainland, we used to swim and having sunbath happily. So, the tempereture difference can be huge sometimes between the mainland and Losinj island.

There is no snow usually in wintertime, only in every 50 years. The temperature is usually at around 10-15C degrees at wintertime and 30-35C degrees at summertime. There is always a bit wind, which gives Losinj a bit of spring feeling all year long. Rains are just ocassionally (usually only at night) and mainly in November/December/January only.

This is our second home, so we are not here continuously. There are other Hungarian families living in this condo house also, who are also not here most of the time. The locals are very friendly.
Losinj is absolutely a safe place. You can even leave your convertible car open for the night. Most probably, no one will touch your values there at all.

I just love homeexchange. I'm sure it's the best way to explore other cultures and to meet locals in their real conditions. Also, you feel like home when you're actually staying in other's home. We also hope to make long term international friendships by that way.

I'm a plastic engineer, working in the heatshrink industry for 20 years now. My wife is hydro-geologist. We are Hungarians, living in the beautiful city of Budapest, Hungary. We bought this apartment in Losinj to be able enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine and lifestyle, anytime we wish.
Me and my wife having 2 daughters (15 and 17). We would like to travel together, as a family, basically to any interesting destinations, but of course we have some preferences. We love to see the under-sea-life in details, so that's why we prefer non-european destinations more.
Also would like to show our children this fantastic planet, that's the main reason we have subscribed in this amazing website.

One more thing, in Europe (only !!) we do travel with our small, very well trained dog "Zsömi" (he is a Cotton-De-Tulear type). Picture is attached. Pls. consider this, when you would exchange with us. He likes foreign cats usually, but you can not be sure about it...

We will take utmost care of your home and would expect the same from you. We love animals, so we will take care about your dog, cats, etc. No problem.

This is our second year on this website and we have had two successful exchanges and our third is lined up for january 2014. We've been very satisfied and look forward to many more years of happy exchanges !
We are looking forward to travelling both in Europe and abroad in our next years and hope that we not only find great people to swap homes with but make some wonderful friends along the way.
