Description of our house
[
![]() ]
Our house is designed to bring the outdoors in and to accommodate life on its substantial terraces. There is a master bedroom with ensuite bath and one guest bedroom with bath in the main house. Each bedroom has a queen size bed, so the house sleeps four. The one-bedroom guest house sleeps four as well, with a king bed in the bedroom and two daybeds in the living room. One of Costa Rica's very best beaches is less than four minutes walk from our front door. Please see our website (click on the Visit Homepage link below) for lots of photos of house, garden and beach and helpful information for planning your trip.

The Nosara beach development was begun more than 40 years ago and has grown slowly, attracting an international community of single-family home dwellers for the most part, though there are a few unobtrusive small hotels as well. There are excellent restaurants (several within walking distance of our home), a bakery within a short walk and another that, once each week, comes to our front door with a truck full of great bread and sweet treats. We're near the Ostional Refuge, nesting place for Olive Ridley turtles that come ashore each month during the dark of the moon. Something about ourselves

We are recently retired (Alice -- from educational fundraising and Mike from a CPA practice) and chose Costa Rica for our retirement more than 15 years ago. After 40 years in the cold upper midwest US(Minnesota and North Dakota) and 20 years on the urban US East Coast, we haven't been sorry for one minute that we decided on this tropical paradise. Over the years, while awaiting the day we could live in Costa Rica full time, we've created a home and property that we love, and we think you will love it, too. Currently, our time for travel is limited, but try us, maybe we can make a match. And, for now, we are not able to offer our home for exchange during the Christmas holidays. ![]()
