Our building is located in a great neighbourhood and just about everything you may need is within walking distance while a 15 minute subway ride takes you downtown. High Park, a 200 acre park, is just half a block away. Bloor West Village with its many shops and restaurants is about a 10 minute walk.

We love living here because Toronto is a vibrant city with lots to see and do.

Theatre http://www.mirvish.com , concerts http://www.masseyhall.com , museums http://www.rom.on.ca , galleries http://www.ago.net , shopping http://www.torontoeatoncentre.com , and a great zoo http://www.torontozoo.com . Just to mention a few. There are many interesting neighbourhoods and districts to check out. For example, http://www.thedistillerydistrict.com and http://ebw.evergreen.ca . Our neighbourhood is very nicely described on this web site from 2004 http://units.sla.org and there are also links to other neighbourhoods worth a visit.

For the kids there is Canada’s Wonderland http://www.canadaswonderland.com just north of the city, and Centre Island http://www.toronto.ca a short ferry ride away.

We have major league baseball http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com , the NBA http://www.nba.com , (ice) hockey http://mapleleafs.nhl.com and soccer (football) http://www.torontofc.ca .

Everything can be reached by excellent and inexpensive public transit.

Niagara Falls is about a 90 minute drive away, so is The Shakespeare Festival http://www.stratfordfestival.ca at Stratford as well as the Shaw Festival http://www.shawfest.com at beautiful Niagara on the Lake. Kingston and the Thousand Islands http://www.visit1000islands.com are a bit further away but well worth the trip. And fall colours just north of the city at The Forks of the Credit. Lots to do!

We are a couple (Dutch and Canadian) of recently retired civil servants. We like to hike the great outdoors, visit zoos, museums, and historic sites. We are experienced home-exchangers (five so far). We have also done house sitting in England and The Netherlands. We will be pretty busy travelling until the spring of 2013; we are open for offers thereafter and would love to arrange an exchange with Iceland for next summer.

We have a middle aged indoor cat who likes to eat and sleep a lot but who will appreciate some tender loving care from time to time. A "stand-in" cat sitter is usually available if you decide to go away for a couple of nights. Of course we will gladly look after your pets. Dogs are not allowed in our building.
