![]() Our neighborhood
We are situated in a mature urban neighbourhood on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment bordering the Bruce Trail (a 700 km. nature trail fom Niagara Falls to Tobermory Geogian Bay). There is a panoramic view of the city of Hamilton(which is a hot bed for music, art, and culture) from the front windows. Situated on the bus route and only a ten minute walk to downtown and its shops, churches, museums, bus depot, and restaurants. We are a 15 minute drive from Hamilton International airport and about an hour's drive from Toronto's Pearson International Airport. Hamilton is central to the Golden Horseshoe which stretches from Niagara Falls (60 km.) to Toronto (60km.) on the Western end of Lake Ontario. Many hiking and cycling trails are easily accessible from the back door. Wine tours are a very popular activity in the Niagara region. Something about ourselves
We are a "middle-aged" couple (64 & 60) Al has been retired for 6 yrs. from sales & service. Sonja is a retired Vice-Principal at the Hamilton District Christian High School. We have two married sons residing in the area but no grand children "yet". Our travel plans are usually dependant on the available space on Air Canada flights since we use parent passes available from our son (An Air Canada freight manager). Our interests include reading, cycling, dining out, gardening, and travel. We are experienced travellers, having toured Europe numerous times using various means of transport: (train, ferry, car, bus, bicycle)and many different types of accomodation including: camping,Hotel,B&B,Pensions, and private homes. Now that we are both retired we hope to really take advantage of the opportunity to travel at non peak times if possible. There is still so much to see and experience, give us the chance to explore your neck of the world. ![]()
