Description of our house
[
![]() ]
Our home is located on a large, southfacing, oceanfront lot on Saturna Island, the southernmost of British Columbia's Gulf Islands. The highlight of your stay is the 600 square foot deck with lounge chairs, a patio table for dining and a hot tub with unobstructed views of the water. You'll end up spending a large part of your day here, despite what you may have planned. The deck opens onto a landscaped yard with additional seating and a hammock, for when you really want to put your feet up. Fill the bird feeders and keep water in the bird bath, you can be assured of the constant company of colourful friends. You will get regular visits from bald eagles, hummingbirds, woodpeckers and black tailed deer. Stroll from the deck down to the Muskoka chairs on the shore and you will soon see seals and porpoises pass by. If your timing is right, you may even see a pod of orcas. The house itself is simple but comfortable. It has vaulted ceilings over a large, open, kitchen and living room area featuring lots of seating, a TV with DVD/VCR and a selection of movies (no cable or satellite), a stereo system and a wood stove for any cool evenings during your stay. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double. It is a peaceful, idyllic setting for a relaxing stay during any season.

The cottage is on the eastern most point of the island and you can expect to see more deer than people. Fifty percent of Saturna is now part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve and is maintained by Parks Canada. There are several hikes of varying lengths and difficulties, endless kayaking opportunities and beaches scattered about the island. We are a ten minute walk from East Point Park, which offers gorgeous views towards Vancouver. The island features a general store, cafe, pub, kayak tours/lessons and a vineyard. It is truly a relaxed and tranquil setting. ![]() Something about ourselves
[

We are Lisa and Eric, both professionals in our early 40s. We love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, kayaking, boating, swimming or simply relaxing with a book and refreshments. That is what attracts us to Saturna so strongly and it is also one of the things we look for in our travels. We also enjoy exploring the sites in new countries and finding out about different cultures and their histories. We prefer getting to know local people and settling into neighbourhoods away from the tourist centre of town. ![]()
