My home is specious, comfortable and clean. The main floor has hard wood floors, Persian carpets. The kitchen is compact and has a nice eating area, it connects to the balcony with a sitting/eating area which leads into a large fenced-in garden with fruit trees and a vegetable bed. The year 2000 accross Canada biking/walking trail is right accross my home and has biking/hiking trails leading to ocean (15 min walk) and up mount Douglas.
The masterbedroom features a kingsize bed and a full-ensuite. The 2 single bedrooms share a full bathroom
The livingroom can be heated with a gas fireplace on a cool evening. There is a seperate diningroom. The bedrooms are 6 steps up, the washer/dryer are 6 steps down. The neighbourhood is very lovely, with treed streets that lead around mount Douglas Park and to the ocean. The down town area is 7 km. away. One can take a bus or car to one of the most loveliest cities in Canada, with it's harbour, parliament buildings, the Empress Hotel, it's theatres and there are restaurants galore.
Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. One can take the ferry to Vancouver or to the Gulf Islands. A trip by ferry across to the U.S. starts right downtown Victoria in the inner harbour. One can go by clipper to Seattle or to Port Angeles US by ferry...
Driving up island will give you biking, hiking, fishing, boating in all forms, skiing, any sport you can think of plus wildlife, like bears and cougars, whales and deer .... most early mornings in my front garden one can see deer passing by, or raccoons going "home" to sleep and do not forget the rabbits....hopping about The neighbourhood is very lovely, with treed streets that lead around mount Douglas Park and to the ocean. I am newly retired and now I have time to travel. I worked in a nursing home and people living there and from the community would swim with me or do therapeutic water exercises.
I have 2 adult children, who live close by. The oldest is the owner of a dressage riding school/farm and teaches dressage riding full time. The youngest one flies kites all over the world (yes you read that right).
Both can help you with anything you need to know. Of course I will leave you notes so your stay in my home will be enjoyable and a real vacation. I am newly retired and now I have time to travel.
