Vancouver is a beautiful port city on the west coast of Canada, with stunningly beautiful mountains behind. Our downtown area of Vancouver is prized for its walkable nature, with pedestrian footpaths all along the waterfront, plus an easy bus system. Walk, bike, bus, rollerblade and explore downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park right from the condo. The weather is Mediterranean; it has mild temperatures and there is greenery and flowers year round. In winter, there is occasionally a snowfall but snow rarely stays in the city. The high mountains behind Vancouver get lots of snow and provide a winter playground within 30 minutes of downtown-- skiing, boarding, snowshoeing. Vancouver was host city of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The condo is close proximity to Granville Island (market, art, restaurants, microbreweries, coffee shops and theatre) via a 5 min water taxi. Within 50 m of two of Vancouver's top-rated restaurants. Vancouver is within easy access of other wonderful areas -- Whistler, Vancouver Island, or Seattle (USA). Easy trip by bus (or car) to the mountain community of Whistler (approx. 1.5 hour drive) famous for its skiing and hiking opportunities. It's also a 3 hour car or bus + ferry ride away from Vancouver Island and the British Columbia capital city of Victoria, or a 2 hour drive to Seattle USA.

We are a semi-retired Canadian couple. We lead an active life, with many cycling trips, kayaking, hiking and other adventures to fit in amidst travelling to new places both near and far. We both love the outdoors, as well as active urban centres. Doug is an architect but now directs his creative design talents doing metal sculptures and glass blowing. Nancy is an aspiring Spanish-speaker and a gardener. We try to be locavores, growing our own food or buying locally. We care for our world and our home, and would treat your home with the same respect.
