This is our second home on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We are prepared to make this home available any time during the year especially during the summer months when we reside in Ontario. There is a spacious living room with a cathederal ceiling and lots of windows looking on to a man made creek running behind the house. The kitchen, dining nook and dining room are fully equiped with all modern appliances and new (2006) furniture.
The large master bedroom has a walk-in-closet and ensuite. The second bedroom/den has a wall murphy bed, high speed internet connection and door to the main bathroom. The home is located in Arbutus Ridge, a gated retirement community on a championship golf course and with 24 hour security and numerous activities for those over 50. Some of the clubs include golf, tennis, curling, hiking, bridge, exercising, stained glass, pool, carpet bowling, choir, hymm singing, wine making, bingo, chess, scrabble, etc. etc.
Arbutus Ridge is located half way between Victoria and Nanaimo (45 minutes to each) and can be reviewed at http://arbutusridge.com Vancouver Island has a very temperate climate with many central canadians heading there for the winter months. We are a retired couple in our early 60's who have done quite a bit of travelling and still have the bug. Jim was a Human Resource Supervisor for the Manitoba electrical co. while Marilyn was a registered nurse (both took early retirement). We both golf, play bridge, hike and particularily enjoy getting together with friends.
Some of the places we have visited include: Fiji, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba, Zimbabwee, Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, most of the United States and almost all of Canada.
In the winter of 2010 we completed a very successful exchange in Portugal.
