Description of our house

My home is in a lovely modern two bedroom, two bathroom, one-level single home in a small (14 individual homes) gated complex. I am fortunate to have great neighbours who are there for any assistance if needed, but do not intrude. The house is fully equipped with all conveniences including Plasma TV, VCR,DVD, high speed internet and air conditioning. It is very comfortable. It has a separate living room, dining room, kitchen with eating area and attached family room. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and attached en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The second bedroom is used as an office/guest room and has a sofa bed that makes out into a double bed. The other bathroom is adjacent. Access to the back yard is through patio doors in the family room. The back patio has ample seating areas and a beautiful water feature and views of the surrounding fields and mountains. A great place to sit and relax with a beverage after a busy day sight seeing and listen to the sounds of trickling water. Also there is a barbecue area to cook up your culinary delights.

Chilliwack is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains. The area offers many holiday opportunities. There are 10 golf courses, pristine lakes for swimming or boating, hiking, cycling, many fishing rivers(one within walking distance from my home) - or ride the rapids, kayak, horseback riding, tennis etc. You name it, it's here or close by. There is easy four lane highway access to the beautiful city of Vancouver with all that it offers. As well as its beauty it has a large multi-cultural society. You can take a couple of days and do a circle drive up to the Okanagan wine country and return via the scenic Fraser Canyon(wonderful). Stop and take a river rafting experience. One of the many other opportunities is to visit Whistler, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, a beautiful 2 1/2 hour drive away. Also more than worthwhile would be the ferry ride to Vancouver Island and visit a little bit of old England in lovely Victoria. . While you are on the ferry you may be lucky and see Orca swimming by, or take one of the several whale watching tours available. B.C. is big, various and bursting at the seams with natural wonders. We also have two bicycles. The valley floor is flat and an easy ride should you decide to ride or walk to the nearby river for a picnic or ride along the trail by the river. May I suggest http://www.tourismchilliwack.com or http://www.chilliwack.com for further details and many pictures of the area. Add a 1 week cruise to Alaska from Vancouver to your visit. Also, visit our famous Rocky Mountains either on the popular Rocky Mountain train tour or by car. ![]() Something about ourselves

Now about us. Bernie and David. I am a widow who retired from the City of Chilliwack where I was the Asst. Treasurer. David is a professional artist and educator (now retired from teaching). He taught art at Capilano College in Vancouver for 26 years. The murals that you see (not too well) in the pictures were painted by him. The mural in the second bedroom is the gate to the riyad where we stayed in Fes, from a recent holiday trip to Morocco. We love to travel and have done so extensively. We are both 'neat freaks' and will treat your home with great care. We are non smokers and would prefer same. We would be willing to exchange cars. We have also made 5 previous exchanges in Europe and one in Canada. We do not have pets but are animal lovers and would be happy to babysit yours. Hope that we can tempt you. ![]()
