The house is a bungalow (called a "rancher" over here) in a quiet residential neighbourhood with similar homes from the early 1950's (that's relatively old here). There are two bedrooms and a study. There is a queen -sized bed in the main bedroom, a double bed in the guest bedroom and a double sofa-bed in the study. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower. The main bathroom has a combination bath and shower with toilet. We have a dishwasher, washer and dryer, microwave oven, as well as an electric wall oven and separate countertop range. There's a family room with a colour tv, vcr, dvd player, and a gas fireplace. The living/dining room leads off from the kitchen - the house is very open plan - with lots of art on the walls and antique furniture. We have a gas fireplace and stereo system (cd player and cassette player) in the living room. There's a gas barbecue on the patio deck by the pool which we use all the time in the summer. It's natural gas so you never have to worry about running out of gas. We also have stereo speakers on the pool deck.
We have a friendly, though sometimes aloof, 18 year old cat who needs little attention, apart from feeding daily and a few cuddles.

Our house is in Edgemont Village, North Vancouver, with views of the mountains that are minutes away. We are in the heart of a beautiful wooded area, ideal for walking. Walks range from easy sauntering to strenuous mountain hiking. We are at the foot of Grouse Mountain - excellent skiing and snowboarding in the winter - and the gondola runs throughout the summer. Views from the top of Grouse are spectacular.
Vancouver itself is close by. We can drive downtown in a little over ten minutes. There is a very good bus service too. Vancouver is a beautiful, friendly, vibrant city with active theatre, concerts, art galleries, jazz and blues clubs and restaurants galore. There are many beaches within very easy reach of the house with sailing and fishing available too.
Or, if you prefer, you can laze by the pool in our very private, sun-filled back yard.

We are both retired teachers who have no children living at home. Both daughters live in London, England. We have been doing house exchanges for many years now and can think of no better way to see the world.
We are both extremely house (and garden) proud. You can expect us to take the same care of your house as we do of our own.
