Description of our house
We offer a lovely, completely renovated three bedroom apartment in Copacabana, Rio, a five minute walk to the famous Copacabana Beach and only twice that far to Ipanema. The third bedroom contains a double sleeper sofa. The two other bedrooms have queen beds. We have satellite TV in two of the bedrooms and broadband internet. The apartment has four window airconditioners which will completely cool it. We are on the 5th floor with social and service elevators and doormen. There is a spacious living room with adjoining dining room. The kitchen is large with plenty of counter space and new fridge, stove and microwave.

Our neighborhoodWe are located two short blocks and a five minute walk to Copacabana Beach. We are really convenient to most bus lines and a short bus ride to the Metro (subway). We are typical of most neighborhoods in the area in that we have bars, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc. within steps of us. Although the beach is close by, this is more like a real neighborhood with mostly locals. Rio has everything you could wish for: culture, beaches, fine or cheap dining. Did we mention the people?!? The people of Rio (cariocas) are simply the nicest in the world. If you make even the slightest attempt to communicate, they'll try to help you.

Something about ourselvesWe are in our early 60s and retired. We LOVE to travel and especially to meet new people. As this is a second home, we are open to many options. We also have a home at the north shore of Lake Tahoe which could be put in the mix. We've completed three exchanges and have more planned for 2008 and 2009. We are in the process of planning an exchange in SW France for Sept. or Oct. 2009. In conjunction with that, we'd love to spend a couple of weeks in Barcelona or perhaps Italy.
