Description of our house
Our luxurious and spacious villa offers you the best of three worlds: Belgium, Holland and Germany. Our home is situated in Zutendaal, a very 'green' country town in Belgium that is very near the Dutch and German border. We are 15 km's from Maastricht, a very beautiful and elegant old university town which is tourist destination nr. 2 in Holland.
About our home: it is a new and large 2-storey home (architect-designed) with 4 large bedrooms & 2 baths (one is the size of a normal bedroom), a separate study/library (with lots of English books & 2 PC's with fast wireless internet connection) and a laundry room. The downstairs bedroom is currently in use as a playroom. The livingroom is also very spacious with a mix of antiques and modern design. We feel it has a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The house further has all the amenities including washer and dryer. The separate kitchen has dishwasher, 2 ovens and 2 microwaves. We have 3 tv sets, VCR, DVD player, BBQ etc. Our large garden with private heated pool with solardeck is completely fenced in, so if you have kids you do not need to worry about them when you are relaxing.
Our housekeeper is probably willing to help you if you so wish.

Our neighborhoodIf you wish to visit Europe, our home is an ideal and central location. You could visit all the sights of Belgium and Holland from our home without having to spend the night away. In fact we are Dutch ourselves, we live in Belgium but we work in Holland.
We are 1 hour from Antwerp & Brussels and only minutes from Maastricht, which has plenty of 2 or 3 star Michelin restaurants. Paris & Amsterdam are 3 hours away by train or car.
Another beautiful old town is Hasselt (only 15 km's: great for shopping & dining). The ancient German towns of Düsseldorf, Aachen and Cologne are less than 1 hour from our home.
Also good to know is that we are in proximity of several local airports (cheap parking), from which lowcost airlines fly to London, South of France/Italy or Spain. This year we went for weekends to Rome and Nice for only 29 euro (one way)! Another weekend favorite is to go winetasting (and -buying) in the Alsace.
Zutendaal is a very sought after residential area, known for it's many horses, woods and chapels. Our villa is situated at the edge of the woods and is within walking distance from supermarket, pharmacy, butcher, patisserie, baker, bank, bus etc. For those of you who do not like shopping or dining: the area is great for outdoor activities: golfing, hiking, walking, horsebackriding and biking (our bikes are available). We often go for a day to the Ardennes or the German Black Forest for it's beautiful and rugged scenery.

Something about ourselvesWe are Annelies (Mom & attorney) and Hubert (Dad & IT consultant). We are in our early 40's and are the proud and happy parents of 2 small kids: Maurits (boy, born April 2000) and Bodine (girl, born July 2002).
We all are experienced travelers and homeswappers. The kids are now at an age that they know that some items may not be touched. We have some expensive glass objects & souvenirs from our travels, and those items are still in one piece.
In case you have kids: we have a large collection of toys (in- and outside), books & DVD's,computergames and PS2.
We would treat your home with the same respect and care as we treat our own and we would expect you to do the same. We are sure you will feel at home in our home and will love the location.
