I M P O R T A N T ! For the same exchange periode and if you want it, you may dispose of our homes in BRUSSELS AND the one in the countryside near NAMUR (look at the pictures), that means you can enjoy your stay in Belgium from a rural to a urban environment or vice versa:
1. Our home in Brussels is located in a quiet and popular neighbourhood, near a green park and at only 15 minutes by foot of the Grand Place and the main commercial areas. The home is large with a living room, kitchen and dining area, 4 bedrooms, bathroom (look at the pictures) and a sunny terrace.
2. Our house in the countryside, a picturesque and peaceful village near Namur, capital of the Walloon region, french speaking side of Belgium, is an ancient, renovated and sunny detached three-storeyed. The garden is large and green (approximately 3000 square meters) with a small wood, wooden playground and a vegetable garden.
Both houses are fully equipped with washing machine, dish washer, microwave oven, freezer, video recorder et DVD player, stereo. . . and of course computer and Wifi access to Internet. Children will find there plenty of fun toys to play with. I M P O R T A N T ! With its human size, Brussels is also a cosmopolitan and multicultural capital, with topnotch museums, a delightful architectural mix of Gothic and Art Nouveau, a thriving restaurant and nightlife scene, and tempting chocolate shops on seemingly every corner. Moreover, from Brussels you can go to historical Belgian cities like Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Namur within 1Hr, or Paris (90 min.), London and Amsterdam (2h.), Luxemburg, Koln, etc. (by train).
2. The village of Vezin is a peaceful place located between Namur and Andenne and just 60 km away from Brussels, but you'll be surprised by all the things you can do in the area. Within ten minutes drive there is always a museum, a castle -amongst others, the Citadel of Namur!-, historic residences, family attractions or even an archeo-prehistoric site). Other ingredients than cultural life may be easily incorporated for a totally relaxing stay: nature (valleys, rivers, forests) and sporting activities. 1. Our next summer exchanges is concluded but any short break request will be considered in August and Autumn. Tempt us !
We are an experienced exchangers family (more than 20 successful swaps in France, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany and Ireland till now). Our three children, Virgile, Jonas and Lise (aged 8, 16 and 19 years old), are interested in other cultures and well-behaved. My wife Carine and I Ronald are in our 40's, she is working in advertising and I am a local government senior officer.
However, the parents alone enjoy short breaks and weekends throughout the year and anywhere in Europe. All suggestions are welcome. Whatever our decision is, we will answer to any inquiry. Just ask us any question, we will answer you in French, English, Spanish or Dutch. Our next summer exchanges is concluded but any short break request will be considered in August and Autumn.
