Our lovely 2-bedroom apartment is in a wonderful 1932 Art Deco building on the 4th floor. It is very light and sunny, south-facing and offering great views over our neighborhood of St. Gilles. It has one large living and dining room. The dining table seats 8 comfortably. The main bedroom is quiet and overlooks the building's interior courtyard. The second bedroom has a lovely bay-window and we offer an inflatable mattress for two more persons. The bathroom is original, with a large, deep claw foot tub and washbasin. The kitchen is cozy, with a breakfast bar for two people and a small balcony with a small table. There is beautiful parquet flooring in each room and original moldings throughout. It is located in a hip and active neighborhood, yet only minutes from the old center of Brussels.

St. Gilles is the "up-and-coming" neighborhood in Brussels. To the right of our apartment, just minutes away, is the Parvis St. Gilles - a wonderful square filled with bars, cafes, and restaurants and a market on the weekends. Further down is the Porte d'Halle- one of the original towers of the old city walls and now a lovely park and museum. To the left of our place, again just minutes away, is the Chatelain area, filled with boutiques, restaurants and shops. The Horta Art Nouveau House is a 3 minute walk away. You can reach the downtown center of Brussels in an easy 20 minute stroll or a quick tram ride. Our place is only two stops away by tram to the Brussels Midi train station - arrival point from the airport, Eurostar and Thalys trains. Something about ourselves

We are a male couple, Joe and Miles. We have been together for 13 years and have lived in Brussels for the last 5. Originally from San Francisco, we are very happy living and traveling in Europe. Miles is a teacher, working at the International School of Brussels teaching in the Early Childhood Center. Joe is a landscape architect with his own design and installation business. We have not done a home exchange before, but love the idea of traveling to a new place and getting a sense of truly "living there" and would love to share our knowledge of Brussels and Belgium with you. We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and have traveled extensively.
