Description of our house

We invite you to a wonderful, cozy and spacious house from 1989, mainly built with organic materials with lots of wood and glass and polished terra cotta floors. We have four bedrooms, one with a king size bed, two with a queen size beds and one with single bed. There are two living rooms, one with a sofa bed and a addtional guest room. There are three bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi, and a sauna. A balcony and a terrace overlook our garden with old trees and a tiny little pond, that is shallow, but not fenced. There is one indoor open fireplace and one outdoor that we use for barbecue. We love music and have a piano, violins of all sizes, two violoncelli, guitars and an electronic drum set, just in case you want to practice. There is high speed internet, a HD wide screen TV set with satellite reciever and a WII and a playstation 3. You are welcome to use one of our cars (Volkswagen Sharan or Volkswagen Tiguan, both new).

Modling is a suburb of Vienna and one of the finest living areas. It takes 20-30 min to down town Vienna either by car or by excellent public transport. Vienna offers everything you can expect from a former imperial capital: Schonbrunn castle, Vienna opera house, museums of almost every kind, classical and modern concerts, arts and history, fine dining, night life. In addition, Modling offers lots of nature. Our house is located in 5 min. walking distance to the natural preserve Vienna Woods, ideal for jogging, hiking or mountain biking. Another 5 min walk will take you to the center of Modling, where you will find all sorts of shops and restaurants. Around the corner there is a recreational area with outdoor and indoor pools, spa and beachvolley. It's a half hour drive to Neusiedlersee, one of Europe's biggest lakes, ideal for sailing and wind surfing and approx. one hour to the "real alps" and the nearest ski slopes. We are a family of five: Manfred (59) works at a bank, Elisabeth (49) is a doctor. We have two boys, 16 and 9 years old and a girl age 13. Our house would be perfect for any family with kids, since there is every kind of toys you can imagine, bicylces, skateboards, inline skates... (In case of toddlers you should be aware of the pond.) We enjoy travelling and did six very successful house exchanges and just loved it. Our two cats prefer to stay at home and would be grateful for feed (neighbors will take care of them if you want them to) There is lots to see and do for kids and adults in and around Vienna - welcome!
