Our home is a very comfortable and relaxing place. We have a large open plan living room with high ceilings and chandliers. The kitchen looks into that room but is separate. The kitchen has been beautifully renovated. The view from this part of the house looks out into a charming garden facing the street. There are three bedrooms, two quite large and the third smaller, all have queen or double beds.
There is one bathroom, two toilets and a separate laundry. There is a office/study at the back of the house which leads to a delightful deck stretching across the back of the house. This is where we spend many hours in the warmth of the winter sun or in the summer evenings. This is quite a private area with a table chairs and slumber lounges. It is has a roof and can be enclosed if cold/wet with clear plastic blinds to the floor, (very cosy in the winter).
Reverse cycle airconditioning in all rooms, we get high temperatures in the height of the summer- Jan/Feb. No discomfort for sleeping if its really hot.
Our home is nicely kept, looks fresh and clean. We have no animals nor do we smoke. Our home is a very comfortable and relaxing place. We are well situated for public transport. Metres from our house.
Less than 10mins walking to a large shopping mall, cafes, hardware store, pub, furniture store and many other retail stores.
In our own little shopping area (in the opposite direction) we have a beautiful small lake and park. Great for adults as it has a exercise obstacle course and play equipment for children, plus of course the black swans-the emblem of WA. Here at the local shops (some open seven days a week)you can source locally grown produce of excellent quality. There are two very good restaurants/cafes here as well.
The beach is close, about a 30min walk or 5mins in the car/bus.
We do have push bikes to use though getting to the beach is a hilly trip!

My husband and I are in our fifties. We have two adult children. Our son still lives with us as he is at university doing architecture. My daughter lives in Sydney. My husband works as a Risk Consultant mainly in the oil and gas industry. I am a Nurse working at one of our universities.
As a family we like to travel together occasionally. We have had some wonderful trips to Europe and the Mediterranean as a family group.
We have never tried the house exchange before but friends of ours have done so and have encouraged us to do the same. My husband and I are in our fifties. We have two adult children.
