Our home in Booragoon is light and spacious, on one level, with tiled and carpeted floors. There are two dining and living areas. There is a large main bedroom with ensuite and walk-in robe. Full length windows look out to the gardens from the main bedroom, living and dining areas. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and a single bed as well (optional). The third bedroom has a single bed and a portable cot with the second bathroom nearby. Both of these bedrooms can be adjusted to suit your needs.
The kitchen has a breakfast bar and all modern conveniences including a cappuccino machine. The Neff appliances are all new as from July 2011 and the Neff cook top is induction. Much of the interior of the house was recently renovated. There are TV's in both the living areas.
There are two outdoor patios with an umbrella, shade sails and some lawn, where we enjoy barbecues with family and friends. Our house is easy care and the garden is reticulated.
The park across the road has tall native trees and is a haven for many different birds including kookaburras, magpies, crows, ibis, pink and grey galahs and sometimes white cockatoos and corellas. There is a small playground in the park and there are two larger parks close by. Our home in Booragoon is light and spacious, on one level, with tiled and carpeted floors. Perth is a beautiful city, situated on the Swan River. Our home is about 10 kms South from the city and 30 minutes from the International and Domestic airports. We live in Booragoon, in a quiet suburban street, 5 minutes walk from a major shopping, movie theatre complex and bus station. There are restaurants and many casual eating places nearby.
Kings Park Botanical gardens have a treetop walk, native plants and great views of the city and rivers. The Canning and Swan Rivers with playgrounds and walking paths are a few minutes away by car. Wireless Hill park has a playground and barbecue area and wildflowers in our Spring. Aug/Sept/Oct are best for wildflowers including kangaroo paws.
Train transport is a few minutes away by car, the bus station is five minutes walk or just go for a bicycle ride.
The South Perth Zoo is about 10 minutes by car and features nocturnal animals, wild animals, reptiles and of course kangaroos. The Fremantle tourist precinct (about 15-18mins) is a popular area for locals and visitors to enjoy, with many restaurants, hotels and shopping opportunities. Our many beaches have white sands. Beautiful Port and Cottesloe beaches are about 20 minutes away.
Perth city, the Art Gallery and Museum are 15 minutes via the Freeway. There is an Aquatic centre with a 50 metre pool, children's pool and gym about 1 km from our home.
35 minutes North on the motorway is the first of the many Swan Valley wineries.
Up the coast is Hillary's Boat Harbour and the AQWA indoor marinelife sanctuary where you can see sharks and stingrays. Yanchep park (one hour North) features koala bears in their natural environment. Margaret River wineries are about 3hrs South on the new Freeway extension. We are Kevan and Sue, a recently retired married couple with four grownup boys and six grandchildren. Our interests are golf, tennis, walking, cycling, reading, watercolour painting, woodworking, the theatre and of course travel.
We have had four successful exchanges in Australia and New Zealand and are booked up for January and April /May 2012. We sometimes travel with another retired couple who are experienced exchangers also and would like this to be an option in our home exchange.
We would respect your home and take good care of it and would love to hear from you! We are Kevan and Sue, a recently retired married couple with four grownup boys and six grandchildren.
