Our house faces the beach which is excellent for surfing, swimming and fishing. You can watch the surfers (and the whales pass by (July/August))while you have your meal. Modern kitchen and appliances with comfortable furniture.
Also upstairs is a self contained 1 BR unit (kitchen and living room) which is separate from the downstairs house. It is available for couples only.
From the house, it is only a short walk in to town.
Our house is a 5 minute walk through a park into town (restaurants , hotels(4) and shops).
The town is a fishing village situated on the Moyne River and has 2 beaches--one facing east and the other facing south. It has a population of about 3000 which swells to 20,000+ during the 2nd weekend in March when it hosts the Port Fairy Folk Festival. It is 25 km from Warrnambool (pop.25,000) and 3.5 hours west of Melbourne (by train)
Giffith Island is a short walk from town and has a lighthouse and is home to a large colony of mutton birds and wallabies.
Fishing charters/tours are available from the wharf.
We are a semi-retired lawyer and a retired teacher/librarian (Geoff and Elaine) and are keen travellers. We have completed more than 6 home exchanges - all successful and without any diffculties.
We would consider simultaneous and non-simultaneous exchanges and short or long term exchanges.
We also have a recently renovated 1BR unit, with a garage, in Richmond available for exchange. It is 100 metres from the train station and 2km from central Melbourne.
We also have a 2 bedroom beach house in Portsea about 70 klms south east of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula available for exchange.
