Our home is new (completed April 2011). It is built to a period style and is clean & spacious with a large verandah around the house. It has all the modern conveniences of a contemporary home. A lovely large modern kitchen. A double sided wood burner fire for the lounge & meals/family area. Ceiling fans to 4 areas. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in-robe, & the spare bathroom has a spa bath & shower. There are 2 other bedrooms (1 queen bed and 2 single beds)& a library (Peter's passion). Our property is on 1.2 acres & is full of trees & shrubs. Our garden is a work in progress and it takes time to build. We sometimes travel with a friend who has a very comfortable one bedroom apartment + sofa bed in St Kilda, which is an inner bayside suburb of Melbourne, and this property is also available when we travel together. The availability of this apartment will need to be confirmed for each exchange and is subject to our travel arrangements.

Riddells Creek is situated in the Macedon Ranges and has a good rail service to Melbourne (45 mins). Our home is surrounded by a national park and bush walking & mountain bike riding is on our doorstep. We are 1 hour drive from historic Bendigo & Ballarat (gold rush pioneer towns), 2 hours Euchuca (Murray River/Paddlesteamers) just under 2 hours drive to the picturesque Great Ocean Road (surf & shipwreck coast), and 3 hours from Wilsons Promentory (International listed heritage wilderness reserve). Melbourne International Airport (Tullamarine) is only 30 minutes away. You could fly anywhere in the pacific in 2 to 4 hours. Golf courses in all nearby towns. There are excellent wineries in all directions. Kangaroos are common around our house & koalas, wallabys, echidnas are also to be found on a walk in the region, as well as a large variety of native wild flowers & birds. Restaurants: Riddells Creek offers a variety of cuisines: Seasons is a modern & comfortable restaurant, offering bistro dining, casual lunches & coffee: There is also a Thai, Italian and Indian restaurant, a fish & chip shop & a pub offering lunch and dinner meals with childrens play and bar-b-q area. There is a lovely park in the centre of the village with a pond with ducks who would appreciate you offering them some bread, and a picnic and BBQ area. Melbourne has been voted the worlds most liveable city and it has world renown art galleries, a very large cafe/restaurant culture, and everything else that goes with a modern & historic major city.
