Our home is a lovely Edwardian House that has been partially renovated in a contemporary style. It comprises of three bedrooms, a large main bedroom, a beautiful princess style girls bedroom and a large boys bedroom with train table and train set. There is also a playroom with lots of games and activities for children. The kitchen, dining and living area are open plan and look out onto a large inner-city backyard which has a cubby house, a sandpit, swing set, trampoline, sea-saw and monkey bars. There is also an undercover deck area with a barbeque and a shady apricot tree and a lovely lawn which is a wonderful place to sit. The house would be an obvious choice for small families, however, is also ideal for couples. The backyard is a beautiful retreat after a busy day out in town and (with the help of some giant sized outdoor cushions and a bottle of wine), is extremely relaxing. We have ducted evaporative cooling throughout the house for summer and central heating for winter.

We live in an inner city suburb, 7kms from Melbourne CBD and all the wonderful attractions of Melbourne city (MCG, Aquarium, Federation Square, Arts Center etc). There is a train station 3 blocks away that will have you in the city within 10 minutes. There is also a tram stop one block away that will take you on a slower, though scenic, route to the centre of town. We are a 3 minute drive or a 10 minute walk from Flemington Racecourse (Melbourne Cup) and the Melbourne Showgrounds. We are a 10 minute walk from Maribrynong River which is a great place for bike rides, ball games, picnics (and brunches at its boathouse restaurant). We are a 5 minute drive away from Highpoint Shopping Complex which has picture theatres, bowling and great shopping. A 10 minute drive from DFO, a massive factory outlet complex. We are surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The zoo is a 10 minute drive away. You can find out more about Melbourne by visiting: http://www.visitmelbourne.com ![]() Something about ourselves

My husband and I are both professionals (I am a psychologist and he is a commercial furniture designer). We have a 9 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. Both our children are very quiet in nature and have been raised to be mindful and respectful of other people's belongings. We have completed five very successful swaps within Australia and are very eager to experience an overseas house swap. We imagine that we would need to plan this at least a few months in advance, however, we are very flexible with travel times. We all love meeting new people and having new experiences. We have made lovely friends out of house swapping. ![]()
