Description of our house

We have recently converted part of this lovely old produce store into a comfortable, spacious apartment. It retains many of the original features and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. It has a large open plan living area, undercover courtyard with barbeque, ideal for entertaining. The main studio bedroom with ensuite has french doors opening on to the verandah .Just a short walk takes you to the sidewalk cafes and the friendly atmosphere only a small country town can offer.

Our neighborhood

Maldon is a historic gold mining town classifed by the National Trust. It has many attractions including a steam train, various festivals throughout the year and the picturesque surrounding countryside is ideal for hiking. Close to several larger tourist towns, it is an ideal central location for touring. Melbourne is only 1 1/2 hours drive away. There is a good bus service to surroundindg towns and the train to Melbourne has many regular daily services from nearby Castlemaine.

Something about ourselves

We are Leonie and Greg, both 60yrs old.I retired from nursing in 2008,Greg operates a Collectables and Old wares shop in the town.We both love to travel and are very open and flexible as to time and destination. We live in a old ,very Austrailian style homestead (with our 3 cats )situated just out of town(1km ) but still an easy walk to the shops etc.Kangaroos often range free in the garden and there are many native birds. We could offer our home for exchange if a more country experience is preferred.Talk to us anytime. .
