Description of our house
Our home is an easily managed 3 bedroom brick duplex, offering all the comforts we require. We live in a quiet court 200 metres walk from the CBD. As our summers are very warm we have air conditioning throughout. Gas heating is effective thoughout the house in the winter. Dishwasher, gas stove, micro wave, washing machine and dryer all make work minimal. TV's in 2 bedrooms and 1 TV in lounge room, often settles arguments re viewing! DVD and stereo also provide entertainment. We have an ensuite to main bedroom as well as a seperate bathroom and toilet. 3rd bedroom acts as an office but a single bed is also in this room. Our summer evenings are often spent outside enjoying a barbeque in our patio area.
We have a cubby house and sandpit in the back garden, catering for our grandchildren. The shed had golf clubs and bicycles if you wish to make use of, we also have tennis racquets available.

Our neighborhoodBenalla is a pretty city of about 15,000 pop. A great place for walking and cycling, particularly around our picturesque lake area which borders our famous Rose Gardens and Regional Art Gallery. Historic features of Ned Kelly memorabillia, town of Glenrowan (scene of Kelly's capture) only 15 minutes away. We also have an Arts centre hosting visiting live shows and movies. Many sporting activites available in Benalla, we boast magnificent lawn tennis courts, bowling greens, golf club, an airport which is the centre for Victorian Gliding Club (joy flights available) and about 6 Kms out of town Winton renowned motor racing track, we also have horse racing in Benalla. Heated swimming pool and the snow fields for winter sports about 90 minutes away. Fishing and boating at lakes and rivers in the district, particularly Yarrawonga where the Murray Cod are caught. The surrounding areas are farming districts mainly cattle, sheep and wheat. Benalla is ideally situated about 200kms by car or rail from Melbourne. Train services run twice daily to Melbourne and Sydney. Sydney being a much longer trip of about 9 hours but a day trip to Melbourne is done easily. We have a hospital in Benalla well serviced by a number of health professionals. Hot in the summer and cold but pleasant in the winter (Not much rain as the drought continues but we have no water restictions in Benalla) Many good restaurants and coffeeshops and wineries such as Brown Bros a short drive away.

Something about ourselvesWe are semi retired couple Jenny and Jim, who love travelling and look forward to new destinations as we join home exchange. Jenny is nursing in aged care and Jim has a book business which he manages from home, most times our dates can be flexible. We both enjoy the outdoors,wining and dining, the theatre and family and friends. Jim is still persevering with golf and we both enjoy cycling, we have 5 adult children and 13 grandchildren, most in various areas of Victoria including 1 family in Benalla (who will be available if you have any problems) and 1 in New Zealand.
