If you are looking to escape the northern winter for “somewhere sunny & warm”, our home is ideal. It is located on the Sunshine Coast, approx. 1hr’s drive north of Brisbane, in Queensland, Australia.
Our home is a two level ‘penthouse style’ apartment of approx. 290 sq.m. on the top floor of the building. It has three bedrooms, study, 2 ½ bathrooms, wrap-around balconies, and a very light and airy atmosphere. Access is via internal stairs.
The great attraction is the proximity of our home to the beach and river, many attractions, facilities and entertainment. We are located 2 blocks (5 minute walk) from the patrolled Maroochy Beach and Maroochy River, adjacent to tennis courts, bowls club, surf club, Rugby ground, heated Olympic pool complex and public library. Cotton Tree Shopping centre with many alfresco cafes, restaurants, shops (grocery, butcher, newsagent, Post Office, clothing, liquor, etc) and services, is within 150 metres. Many Medical & associated professional services are within 2-3 blocks also. The large Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre is a leisurely 1km walk along the riverside pathway or a short drive. Many other restaurants, clubs, shops and beaches are leisurely walks or short dives away, though one can easily survive without a vehicle.
We have two vehicles which are available - an older Toyota 4X4 and a Toyota Celica.
The apartment is spacious, airy and light filled; 3 bedrooms; study; family, dining & living room; 2 ½ bathrooms; 3 extensive balconies; two spas; entertainment system (LCD TV & surround sound Hi Fi); ceiling fans; air-conditioner in main bedroom; B.B.Q.; Home Gym; Broadband Internet
The building has a private, palm fringed in-ground pool.
Long day trips to the Barrier Reef and various islands are possible, though most people take a number of days. Ocean fishing, scuba diving, kite surfing, Kayaking, etc, are also popular. The Tourist Information Centre is two blocks away. If you are looking to escape the northern winter for “somewhere sunny & warm”, our home is ideal. The Sunshine Coast stretches along 50 km of sub-tropical coastline and the region has hot summers and very mild winters. Our large apartment in the suburb of ‘Cotton Tree’ in Maroochydore, has the Pacific Ocean located two blocks to the east and the Maroochy River two blocks to the north.

The Sunshine Coast and the hinterland is a popular holiday area because of the many beaches and associated activities (surfing, kite-surfing, fishing, scuba diving, swimming, kayaking, etc.) and the other tourist attractions, national parks, restaurants, etc. Australia Zoo, Underwater World, Charter operators, surfing schools, golf courses, etc, are all nearby and walking areas are located along the beaches, coastline and in the hinterland. Despite the popularity, it is a peaceful and relaxing environment.

We are a mature aged couple, teachers by profession, close to retirement age and non-smokers. As enthusiastic skiers of reasonably advanced ability, we are specifically looking to exchange with homeowners who live close to ski fields and who would welcome sunshine, lovely clean beaches, warmth and water activities as a break from the northern winter and snow. We have previously exchanged with homeowners in Canada and have travelled extensively in Europe, S.E. Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Canada and the USA on previous occasions.
