Description of our house
[
![]() ]
Our home is a historic "Queenslander" timber house in the near Brisbane city suburb of Red Hill. The house design suits the sub-tropical lifestyle. All 4 bedrooms sleep 2 people with King, Queen, Double and Twin single rooms. All 3 bathrooms are traditionally furnished with a toilet in each. The back deck is spacious with cool breezes and views of the surrounding suburbs and nearby mountains and ideal for sunset views and drinks. Our home exchange guests always tell us that they 'live' on the back veranda as much as possible. The front garden is secure and a lovely place for children to play. The kitchen has all modern appliances with double electric ovens, a gas cook-top and microwave. There are 2 Televisions, one in the lounge room and one in the main bedroom. We also have chickens that will give you eggs for breakfast every day. If you don't want to care for them we can arrange a neighbour to feed and clean the pen.

Red Hill and neighboring Paddington are cosmopolitan suburbs with cafes, restaurants, cinemas and boutique and antique shopping. You can walk to the central business district or catch a bus at the door. The beaches of the Gold and Sunshine coasts are only one hours drive away. The Southbank Parklands and 'City Beach' are a short bus journey away. ![]() Something about ourselves

My wife Beryl and I are both semi-retired professionals with 5 adult children all living away from home. Beryl now works part-time in Cancer nursing. We now have more time to travel and enjoy our retirement. We have completed a fantastic 2 week home swap in Nice, and a great two week swap in Tasmania. In 2013 we plan to do some more travelling in Australia. ![]()
