Our spacious 3/4 bedroom holiday home offers an enviable hilltop location in Australia's premier resort area, offering fantastic views and balmy sea breezes, yet is conveniently and centrally located in Labrador...only 5 mins stroll to the Broadwater and just a short drive to the larger resort area of Surfers Paradise. Our tastefully furnished home has polished floorboards throughout, is on 2 levels and is ideal for families, couples or friends. The huge, covered, north-facing alfresco dining terrace is your "outdoor living room"....overlooking the sunny rear lawn & private pool area, yet offering welcome shade from the hot sun, and providing a quiet, peaceful and informal area for dining or relaxation!
Upstairs there is a spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living area with vaulted ceilings and sliding doors to the patio. Our fully equipped gourmet kitchen has all the usual modern conveniences and a wide range of cooking utensils to please the enthusiastic cook! There is a separate laundry room with a large washing machine & dryer. The entertainment unit comprises a 42" full HD TV, plus DVD player with a good selection of movies
The huge alfresco dining terrace has a gas BBQ, a large dining table with seating for 8, plus a cushioned sunlounger to relax with a good book. The terrace offers level access to a rear lawn and overlooks the 12 metre fully fenced pool.
3 double bedrooms each with built-in wardrobe, ceiling fans and access to a separate southfacing terrace with views to Surfers Paradise (1 bedroom with 1 king bed, 1 room with queen bed, 1 room with 2 singles.) A modern bathroom with bath, separate shower & vanity. A separate WC.
Downstairs there is a huge study/rumpus room with large desk & bookshelf with plenty of holiday reading, plus a small bathroom with shower, toilet & vanity. There are also 2 additional beds - a king single & a stowaway. There is ample offstreet parking for 2 cars. Wifi internet access is available.
The house is located in a quiet residential street and is very private. Huge lawns at front and rear and there is a washing line on the back lawn. The pool is fully fenced and in an open, sunny position, so you can enjoy swimming all year round. With 57 kms of coastline offering golden sands and fantastic surf beaches, it is considered Australia's premier holiday playground. It is renowned for its sunny, sub-tropical climate, beautiful beaches, expansive waterway and canal systems, active nightlife, fantastic shopping, a wide variety of tourist attractions and theme parks and an incredible number of first class golf courses! The Gold Coast enjoys a perfect climate, with average temperatures ranging between 28-30C (Summer Dec-Mar) to a balmy 20C (Winter Jun-Aug) and is a year round holiday destination. Good motorway access to Brisbane city and easy airport access to both Brisbane International and Gold Coast (Coolangatta) domestic airports.
Our home is located in the suburb of Labrador on the northern stretch of the Gold Coast and is central to everything. The suburb consists of residential homes as well as many serviced apartments, hotels and motels, a popular waterfront tourist park and a wide selection of restaurants. Labrador overlooks the scenic Southport Broadwater...a haven for boating and watersports enthusiasts with its still, shallow waters. The foreshore is just a short stroll down the street(2 blocks)and offers pleasant and peaceful walking tracks and a wide variety of alfresco restaurants along Marine Parade. The Broadwater is a popular swimming area with calm water, several small sandy beaches and children's playgrounds. The nearest surf beach is at Main Beach...approx 10 mins drive south of Labrador. Aquatic sports are a drawcard for the area including wind surfing, boating, fishing and parasailing.
The Gold Coast's most popular theme parks (Movie World, Sea World, Dreamworld & Waterworld to name but a few!) are within an easy 15 mins drive from our home. The Gold Coast is a golfer's paradise and there are about 20 courses (open to the public) within a 30 minute drive and green fees are very reasonable compared with Europe! Labrador has no shortage of shopping with local shops, supermarkets and large shopping centres all within an easy 5 minutes drive! There are also several weekend markets which are popular with locals and tourists
Only 30 minutes away from the coast and a great day trip, is the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland and lush rainforest reserves. This is a vast area of national parks with miles of enchanting bushwalking trails leading to waterfalls, canyons & valleys, vineyards, quaint villages and home to an incredible variety of native wildlife & birdlife.

We are Maggie and Lionel, a middle-aged, well travelled Australian couple with no children. Lionel is a recently retired investment banker and I am a former travel industry executive. We now spend our time looking after our homes in Sydney and the Gold Coast, looking after our 2 little dogs, travelling and trying to improve our golf handicaps! Our hobbies/pastimes include travel, golf, gardening, good food & wine, cooking, and we enjoy exploring new places, meeting new people and making new friends! We have a sense of adventure, however we do enjoy the home comforts and the good things in life! We have travelled extensively and are now looking for a more relaxed holiday experience, somewhere warm to escape the Australian "winter" where we can absorb the local culture and play some golf! We travel on our own, but sometimes we may be joined by a couple of golfing friends for part of our holiday.
