Our home is elevated with extensive views over the Gold Coast and to the Hinterland. It is fully air conditioned. Although this is not often required as we enjoy cooling breezes in the Summer and the sun in the winter. The living area is spacious and open plan. The main bedroom has a king size bed, large ensuite (with separate WC) and walk-in wardrobe. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and adjoining bathroom. The third bedroom has 2 single beds plus a trundle. It also has its own bathroom and separate WC. All appliances are modern and are European brands. A large private deck (with barbecue, 2 table settings, TV and extra frig for drinks) overlooks the solar-heated inground pool and tropical garden and is perfect for meals and entertaining. A large 2-car garage with lots of storage shares the downstairs with the entry vestibule and very large office with bathroom attached. The house is bright, non-cluttered and easy to look after. It would be ideal for a Queensland holiday.

The Gold Coast has something for everyone - from its famous beaches to the mountains of the hinterland just behind. Every sporting interest is catered for as well as the arts, theme parks, great shopping and excellent restaurants. There is just too much to list here. A look at the following website would give a much better idea - http://www.VeryGoldCoast.com.au
Our home is located virtually in the centre of the Gold Coast and is about 4 kilometres from Surfers Paradise beach. We tend to say that we are no more than 10 minutes from everything.
Public transport is available close by, but we recommend that a car is the best way to get around and we are willing to allow the use of one of ours - Honda CRV or BMW 3 series.
Brisbane and Byron Bay are less than an hour away and the Sunshine Coast is about 2 hours.

My husband Charles and I (Elaine) are in our mid-sixties with grown up children and grandchildren. We are virtually retired except for our voluntary work - me as an amateur golf administrator and Charles as treasurer of a state-wide organisation. We love to travel and especially like cruising. However, we have decided that we would really like to experience another country as a part-time resident for longer than just one day in a port. Our last cruise was in the Mediterranean and we fell in love with the area which is why we would like to go back to see and learn more. We hope that someone out there would also like to see and learn more about our area.
We have not done an exchange before, but find the idea really exciting. Our ideal exchange would be simultaneous, for 4 to 6 weeks, sometime in 2012. We would like to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first so we can work out how best to make their stay in our home as enjoyable as possible.
