Magnetic Island is 8 kms off the coast of Townsville, North Queensland. There are regular car and passanger ferries operating to the Island. We couldn't think how to express the beauty of Magnetic Island so below is how it is discribed in tourist brochures.

The Island has a population of about 3000 people spread over four bays. Locals are very friendly and the island has doctors, police, ambulance, pharmacy, shops, restaurants and cafes.

We are a couple in our early 50's who are looking for a change now that our two boys have left for university and work. Matthew has been a pharmacist on Magnetic Island for the past 17 years and Kitty is an early childhood teacher at the local primary school. We like bush walking, swimming, snorkelling and stopping for a coffee in a cafe. We are keen to see more of the world We are interested in home exchanges of all lenghts and in interesting locations.
